Advent 8111 laptop Overheating

Hiya Guys

My girlfriend has an Advent 8111 laptop with 1GB of RAM 80GB Harddrive and running Windows XP Service Pack 2.

The problem seems to be that the fan is constantly on and the temperature of the bottom of the laptop seems to be close to that of an oven at 200 degrees lol

Does anybody have any ideas as to what we could do to help cool it down or is it a case of having to put up with it?

Ive already looked in the BIOS for the fan settings but i havent had much luck in finding the settings for the fan at all :( Ive also disabled the aquarium screensaver that apparently may cause issues but that worked for all of ten seconds before the fan came back on and it started getting hot again :(

Are all Advent laptops like this? or is it just my girlfriends? and would a laptop cooler solve the problem or will that just be an expensive buy and not really solve the problem?

Any help would be most appreciated :)

James

Even though the vents are clear and the fan blades clean, the heatink may require a blast of compressed air to remove crap from between the heatsink fins. Can of air are available for about £5.
