Morning again, it seems dry outside. Yesterday was grey and damp with a raw wind.
Dh's full body bone scan was done without problems. We were at the hospital a long time but just sat in the cafe, had some ok sandwiches for lunch.
I think I'll go out this morning for some more veg and milk, I can be out by 8am and walk to the supermarket. I've been a bit disorganised this year but it doesn't matter really.
Hope everyone is all right and thinking of our sad and poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet.The exercise class was sparsely attended so we all worked extra hard. 😀 The leader handed out sheets with some of the exercises on so that we can carry on ourselves until mid-February. I'll be going up to a friend so we can motivate each other - after Christmas and New Year. 🤞Well, shopping is all done. The M&S trip wasn't as difficult as I had anticipated. Yes, the car park was busy, I squeezed my car into a space as the blue badge area was full (mostly without badges) and the queue to collect food orders was very well managed despite the crowds. I did a very quick whizz round for extra sprouts and a bottle of crèmant. After a little detour for petrol I was back home in good time to watch 'Move over Darling' with my lunch. If the weather is clear I may take away my rubbish, if not then it can wait until Friday. So, no plans here today apart from watching 'White Christmas' and maybe recording'It's a Wonderful Life'.I really hope that @DP1's little one had a ball yesterday and that everyone had a good day. Xx13

Morning all and thanks SCARLET. I hope you manage to have a relaxing Christmas after all the appointments and try and push your worries to the back of your mind for a few days. Not easy I know.
Very little cleaning got done yesterday but as I am not doing any hosting I'm not that bothered. My younger self would be disgusted as back in the day when I had the Boxing Day bash (Bob's ever increasing family and some friends too) and I had up to 30 people here the house got cleaned to within an inch of it's life and every spare minute was spent cleaning, baking and cooking. Of course I was younger then!
Like CHRISCA I have a pigs in blankets production line to set up later to take to DD's tomorrow. When I asked how many she thought I should make middle DGD's reply was Grandma there is no such thing as too many pigs in blankets, and we need plenty left for the picking table later! So far too many it will be! I am also contributing a large dish of cauliflower cheese too but time to do that in the morning. Poor DD was on a night shift last night and same again tonight but she insists after a little sleep when she gets home in the morning she will be up and raring to go before lunchtime. The girls are under instructions not to start opening any presents until she has got up and picked me up to share their enjoyment. Sadly the days of Santa has been are long gone now. Not the same is it when they stop believing.
I finished my course of anti b's yesterday and fingers crossed they got to the root of the infection, I don't want that back for Christmas. I still feel half doped and lacking my appetite but far better than I was. Have a lovely day if you can folks but I expect it will be a busy one for most. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely missing a loved one. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

Rocking around the Christmas Tree
at the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop
You will get a sentimental feeling When you hear voices singing
"Let's be jolly; Deck the halls with boughs of holly" Rocking around the Christmas Tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone's dancing merrily
In a new old fashioned way† + ☆ * ☆ ☆ * ☆ + †
Morning all..Tiler was going to come to finish sealing the grout but I've put him off for a few days becausethe kitchen will smell otherwise and I'd rather it smell of food. On the subject of pigs in blankets, I'm afraid your dgd is correct TA. I'm doing sixteen and that's for the two of us [ for snacking today and eating tomorrow]. Today is also make stuffing, clean sprouts and brocolli cheese ready and anything else I can think of. Then there will be watching of films, maybe Die Hard...
Take care everyone, hope you have a lovely day..

Morning All
Up early here, the turkey crown has been cooked, the ham was done yesterday, sliced and put in the fridge. My pigs in blankets production line is finished, they are in the oven along with chestnut stuffing and sausage stuffing. The batter for the yorkies is resting, will cook those in a bit as they heat up really quickly. Veg can be prepared later although I don't want to cut the carrots or parsnips in case DS2 wants them done a certain way!
Glad you enjoyed your exercise class Gers and M&S wasn't too bad.
Hugs to you and your DH Scarlet, hope you can enjoy the festivities.
It's really quite mild out although very drizzly again, at least that biting wind has died down. I walked down to get my new specs yesterday and was frozen.
Just the bathrooms to clean this morning then maybe watch a film while I wait for DS1 and his DP's plane to land and I'll go and pick them up, we're off out for a meal later as it's his birthday today.
Wishing you all the best Christmas you can have, take care. XX11 -
Good morning
Just getting light here but seems calm and dry.
Today is my brother's 64th birthday. Remember mum going off in the ambulance to hospital, although I didn't know why. Christmas day was spent at my grandparents and my present that year was a toy record player. One of the records was Once in Royal David's city and I played it over and over again. Mum wanted to name brother Mark which was the fashionable name but Dad didn't like it and asked me what I would name my new brother. Of course I said David so David it was. Happy birthday bro.
Today will be spent making sausage rolls and mince pies. Tonight will be our usual deconstructed seafood cocktail. We started this tradition a few years ago when we realised having it before Christmas dinner filled us up too much. We also raise a glass to family and friends no longer with us.
Enough waffling and memories from me. Enjoy your day everyone and take it easy, all will get done.

Morning everyone
It's a lot milder here this morning, when I popped out with the bin. I got everything done I wanted to yesterday, my bedroom has everything back in it, though still needs pictures put back up. Little ones' bedroom is tidy, I just need to put the fresh bedding on for eldest DD, who will arrive about 7.30 tonight. And I still need to wrap her presents up, but will do that after lunch.
I was going to do them last night but little one phoned me from their hotel for a long chat. Yes Gers, she had a ball, they both did. They went to Camera Obscura in the morning, which is all mirrors and illusions then for lunch, then of course for their ride on the Polar Express. DD said the whole experience was amazing, just like being on the train in the movie. Little one was just so excited, she'd absolutely loved it, especially when Santa gave her a silver bell. 'You know Granny only people who believe in Santa can hear the bell.'
It was lovely to hear her so happy and excited.
So I'm going to get my ironing done now, then I'll go down the hill and sort the veg out for tomorrow with mam, this afternoon I'll wrap DDs presents and they can go straight under the tree, then that's me done till tomorrow.
I'll wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you all have a lovely time, and thoughts too for everyone who is lonely or worried - I hope all our good wishes help you to feel a little better x14 -
Morning all, still drizzly here. I'm glad someone mentioned gammon, mine's still in the freezer
, as are the dozens of pigs in blankets - I think I got distracted yesterday as our friends came in the afternoon, they haven't visited here for a long time, we always go there but with DH not driving yet we couldn't.
Alot of my prep was done before DH op so not too much to do. I had a veg box delivered by my pal from the market in the afternoon. I watched a Christmas film when I was getting our tea ready, Italian meatballs from the freezer, & a slice of garlic bread, also from the freezer, and a bit dried up but I put more butter on to revive it and it tasted fineI got the new dining chairs out of the loft, they are much comfier than the old ones but we still need some of them when we have visitors so I got some stretchy covers to go over them to spruce them up.DH pal is coming later with the turkey.Thinking of everyone who has troubles, I know it can be an awful time for some, and I really feel for them, especially Silver-Oldie, Mehefin,Yorks Lass and Suffolk Sue.DH might want to walk to the park cafe in a bit but I'm sure they'll be shutting early, we'll see. Take care all.xi:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12 -
Morning all. Dull here today but will be popping up into town in a while just to get a couple of bits and change a library book. Yesterday I had a sudden spurt of energy and cleared and cleaned two shelves in my baking cupboard, discarding a couple of really ancient things and making a short list of things that need replacing. Have bought enough cream to make DH's favourite pannacottas before New Year but need some sheet gelatine.
I still have my family Secret Santa gift to wrap and then we'll go over to DD's this afternoon with deliveries. DH and I will be home alone tomorrow so have planned a morning walk before cooking a small sirloin joint with all the extras. I need to sort out which bits need defrosting and which can be cooked from frozen. On Boxing Day we will be dancing out at the pub at lunchtime with my Morris side and then going for a family get together at DD's; nibbles, Secret Santa etc.
Very best wishes to everyone here for a happy Christmas and thoughts to those for whom it will be difficult.11
