New kitchen sink waste outlet through wall

Hello.
We are installing a kitchen ina  different part of the house. In its current location, it seems the hole through the wall form the kitchen sink waste outlet is too high relative to the trap in the sink waste.  So, we are getting the plumber to cut a new hole for the waste through the wall for the sink in its new location.
Is ther a standard height for this hole to be made?  Or do we need to wait until the sink unit is in and then get the waste fitted/hile drilled to suit?

If you are getting a proper plumber he should know what height to drill the hole

Dry fit the sink unit and the waste, that will give you where the hole needs to be

Don’t allow him/her to bash a hole through the wall there are special drill fittings for wast pipes.
  • Thanks for your reply.  As mentioned, I was hoping to get the hole drilled before the sink/sink unit is installed, so wondered of there is a standard height ir if every sink differs.
Even I could drill it at the right height if the sink was already installed.  And I've even seen hole saws/core drills before

    No there isn’t

If you are worried about it drill the hole much lower and with enough fittings it will work

The hole cannot be higher but also doesn’t have to be directly under the waste outlet

Don't make the hole in advance of the sink being installed
  • I fit a lot of kitchens and do my own plumbing, I like to mark out where units are going then work out where sink will sit, this way I have straight lines, this is something important to me but not essential.
I like to bring hot, cold and waste trough at 550mm this allows me to fit a shelf in unit, as long as your waste is below the bottom of the bowl of the sink it will work.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'
