Hope everyone managed to keep warm over the last few days.
It's finally warmed up here so I made a list, went to both Sa*nsby's and M*rks and stuck to it! I can't think what came over me but long may it last.
Anyway, I bought toothpaste, frozen sweetcorn and organic milk for the rather horrifying sum of £7.55, the toothpaste alone was £3.50 and that was one of the cheaper options.
That brings my new total to £34.07/£150. I haven't had to buy any baking supplies yet this year nor have I spotted any offers I'd like to stockpile with the bulk buy budget so that money is staying firmly in my bank for now.12 -

We trying really hard to make most things from scratch and have enjoyed trying new ways with things in the cupboard and freezers plus returning to recipes we'd forgotten from long ago.
Feeling very in control of the grocery budget this time as I'd never done before. Hoping for no shopping needed until next Thursday now but we'll see.

Just added £7 to the total from an Aldi shop yesterday. Milk, bread, coffee, grapefruit and a cheeky half price chicken korma to go in the freezer for when it's one of those days when you need something quickly. (I do keep homemade ready meals in the freezer but sometimes you want something different)Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget11

Sigh - £57.83 spent between the butchers & the supermarket - and it was actually £7 more than that but I've taken off £7 for "family contingency" so I can cook ahead of DS1, DDiL & the baby coming next week! If I can keep under £30 at the market tomorrow, I'll still be inside my "allowance" for the week.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)8

DH did a late night shop for squash we forgot and a few reductions that included parsnips @ 38p, creamy stilton @ 83p and hot cross buns @ 10p. The stilton was a treat for me as its our anniversary today. Shall have some tomorrow with celery as a treat. The majority has gone in the freezer for treats in the next few weeks.
He also picked up some kitkats and shortbread as a treat for himself and DS.
£5.13 is not bad for an few basics that included some treaty anniversary snacks.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
