Opened a Nationwide account last week. Just logged in to internet banking for the first time. WOW, it's like something from the 1990's.

Looks like I need to wait for them to post me a card reader! Didn't realise those things existed anymore.

Nationwide are notorious for being extremely fashioned, their app is absolutely hopeless too. They are like a VHS rental shop in the age of streaming.

I interact with Nationwide (via their app) for about 5 minutes every month, pay in £1k, move £200 to the regular saver, move £800 out.

For this they give me a saver paying 6.5% plus £100 once a year.

I can live with the novelty app for this, wouldn't be using them for daily banking though.

Anyone been successful on the latest Nationwide switch and how long between meeting all the criteria and receiving the incentive?

My wife has just completed everything but no sign of the £175 yet.

I applied 4th Jan. I set the switch date as 20th Jan. Received a text yesterday to say the switch was complete/ old account closed. Today I received a text saying I have qualified for the £175 and should receive it withing 10 'calendar' days

It's very unlikely unless you somehow managed to secret squirrel your identity, they will do a credit check, confirm your ID and confirm you had one before

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
