I went to T*sco yesterday, think I was lucky to get out in one piece! It was packed with wild eyed shoppers with piled high trolleys forging their way round - at one point I was in a total trolley jam, pressed up against a fixture, had to just stand there till I could move. However I emerged victorious, having got what I wanted, which wasn't that much.
Today Dh has a hospital appointment for a total body bone scan , at a hospital a few miles away. It takes a while, and I don't think we'll be back in time for a funeral we would have gone to, but so be it.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, I know Christmas isn't a happy time for everyone.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I hope today goes as well as it can for your DH. Worrying times for you. x
I seem to be back to my stupid sleeping pattern again with my early morning waking. Grr. I've been awake so long now I am ready for going back to bed! All sounds calm out there so the battering winds must have moved on. But blooming 'eck it certainly feels chilly.
I am supposed to be catching up on jobs that have been put on hold through illness but that may or may not happen. Baby steps.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Thinking of you SO. Dp1 I hope your little DGD has a fabulous day on the Polar Express and she keeps well over Christmas, Take care all, stay safe xx

Good morning Scarlet, thanks for starting us. I hope all goes as well as it can today for your Dh.
TA, take it easy.
All sounds quiet outside after the winds yesterday, goodness was it noisy.
I'm another one who has been awake for hours mithering. Well, panicking and planning really, although I don't know why, as there's only the two of us this year. I think it comes from years gone past when we had a house full. DD and family are having Christmas at home so they are close to her MiL and can visit her Christmas day for what we know will be their last one with her. So much sadness about.
Anyway, I think I've got it sussed as long as OH goes for bread tomorrow I can get everything done. Corned beef hash for dinner tonight, nice and simple before the festivities start.
Have a good day all, hugs to all who need them.

Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet, hope all goes well for your OH today. @TA - please take things easy, it's not easy to recover from such a flooring.Yesterday was a total washout, in all senses of the word. The horrendous winds only died down in the late afternoon though the terrible rain carried on overnight. Today sounds calm and quiet. 🤞 My response to the weather was to hunker down. I only stirred to make a fresh batch of red cabbage as the load I made last month has all gone. I watched the original version of Scrooge with Alistair Sim with endless hot drinks. This morning I'm going to the final exercise class for a while. The leader is off to India for six weeks after Christmas. I have to go up to Oban to collect my M&S food order though I'm sure I'll regret it once I reach the car park! There's a load of recycling to get rid of too. Then have a couple of presents to wrap, just mindings really.@DP1 - I'm looking forward to hearing about your little one's adventures today. And I send hugs to everyone too, I hope that things aren't too hectic.14

Morning allTalking of M&S car park. We went out really early this morning to get a few last food bits and our local shopping centre has a couple of car parks, one for M&S which was opening at 6am. We were queuing past 6am to get into this car park and it wasn't opening. Ridiculous. Anyway home now. Back to bed with a cuppa, decadent I know!Hope all the poorlies are feeling a little bit better.Hugs to you all x13

Morning All
All is calm outside after the last few days of wind and rain. Still fairly chilly but I can live with that!
I was up and out early yesterday to a Baptism in Dunblane Cathedral which was lovely, it even included the nativity by the sunday school children although the little one wasn't impressed as they didn't sing any songs from her nativity performance!
Just the last minute shopping and some cleaning to do today, it's the turn of the living room and laundry, the bathrooms can wait until tomorrow.
Hope everything goes well today Scarlet, will be thinking of you.
Good luck at Marks Gers, the queues to get in the car park of the one we passed was out onto the road.
Take it easy TA, you're still recovering.
Hope you're better today Nanny.
Must dash, take care. XX15 -
Morning all
Another one here who is glad of calmer weather. Thanks again for everyone’s good wishes after DMum’s fall - she seems to have bounced back, literally and metaphorically, with just a small bump and long graze. I was good for nothing yesterday after not really sleeping. We drove the few hundred yards into the villlage to sit and watch the charity tractor parade which was great, nearly 300 vehicles with so many lights, it was very noisy too.Nothing much planned other than a dog walk today - need somewhere flat as I have a sore back that needs stretching.TA - do take care
Scarlet - Hope the scan goes ok for DH then you can both rest for Christmas albeit with the results to come.
Gers - safe travels
Remmie - hope you can have a nap later!
DP1 - another one here hoping little one stays well and enjoys Christmas

Morning everyone
I'm early for once, I'm going to go down to m and s and farmfoods - Dd neds a few bits for Boxing Day and I said I'd get them to save her having to call in when they get back tomorrow.
You've all put me off now, with your news of full car parks before I was even up!
I also need to call at Homebase, I bought 2 tins of paint yesterday ready to do little ones' room in the new year, then DD said it might take 3, so I'll go and see if there's another one. I'll be lucky if there is, as there was only one tin left yesterday, their paint shelves are getting quite empty.
DD and little one have just called to drop off a leg of lamb - they were on their way to catch a train - little one shouted 'it's the day before Christmas Eve granny!'
I have no idea why my mam has decided to cook turkey, pork and lamb for Christmas lunch - there are only 6 of us and eldest DD won't eat any of it!
Right, I'd better get on - I have a list for today I plan to get through as quick as possible so I can be lazy later. I got my bedroom almost put back together, it was lovely to sleep in a bed with brand new bedding.
Hope everyone has a good day x

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on ev'ry street corner you'll hearSilver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day† + ☆ * ☆ ☆ * ☆ + †
Morning! I moved some stuff around yesterday, so the saucepans are back int he kitchen, OH cleaned the upstairs bathroom, we got gravel and put that down on the shed base, need another couple of bags, but OHs stepdad is coming over if it doesn't rain to help start putting it together. Didn't get round to making sausage rolls, but we did eat the black pudding I'd earmarked for them in a breakfast for supper
Today is pick up meat, tip run, go to Dunelm for another throw and baking tin [ they fit the oven] and then do some cooking. So far this cooker seems to be bigger faster stronger than my old one, bacon certainly cooks better under the grill than it did on the old one.
dp1, hope she has a fantastic time! Gers, hope the weather improves for you, it sounds nasty.Scarlet, hope the scan goes ok. TA, you just need some time to recover..which is not to say it'll help with sleep patterns but you might feel better despite the lack of sleep..camelot, how lovely..funny about your dgd...Allie, good to hear your mam bounced back. Still scary though. Yorkslass, SO et al with recalcitrant children, all I can say from my point of view is that I miss my parents more every year, not less, and hat I hope your children wake up to you are their only parents before it's too late. Nanny, hope your head is better and your leg. Take care all, and I echo Ruby, if anyone is close to me, you're welcome to come round. It's beef btw.

TAFF I hope it stays dry and you get the gravel down what’s your next job I may as well ask because you are always up to something but pans in the kitchen you are definitely getting there and you are right about trying to make the best of everything I live with the grinch all year round I just sing out of tune and wriggle my bum around to the music it fixes nothing being miserable and I know we all have problems and sometimes it’s hard to keep going and we all get days when we think why but I hope people know especially on here that there is always someone to vent to and we all understand I’m another one whose door is always open and remember Xmas may be sad for you or it may be happy but it only lasts for one day . Hi everyone,
We were at m and s at 7.15 and though we parked easily enough there wasn't a trolley to be had. We searched the car park and found one. We called at Sainsbury's on the way back at 8 to get the bits marks don't sell and it was really quiet.
I need to make mince pies and a chocolate cake and then endless lists of what we need to take to Chris and Crystal's.
Scarlet, I hope the scan is straightforward.
Have a good day13
