I know SS, I imagine it's just like having a child who's sick and having to watch folk do things to them when you would much rather have the pain, discomfort yourself if they didn't have to go through it. at least as kids get older you can explain things to calm them down, not so easy with pets.

Slippery elm is good for sores, its a herb for those who don't know and you can get it from health food shops. You make a paste and put it onto the the wound/infection. Maybe this can help your Woofer. xx
