AceMoney Database Size Limit?

This is one for AceMoney users...

Historically, I've started a new AceMoney database every five years. My current one is just coming up for five years, so I've started thinking about closing it down and starting a new one. But is it necessary? Has anyone found a limit to the size of database with which AceMoney can cope? How big is yours?

Apparently it can struggle if the DB is over 1.4MB.    Though, some guy was saying that they have 12 years of data and the DB is still only 900KB in size.

Have you thought about migrating to something like Firefly III?  It's free and there isn't a limit to the database size.   Though I totally understand if you are so used to using AceMoney.

    Thank you.

I suspect that other factors, such as number of accounts and number of transactions, probably affect the database size as well as the length of time involved.

Mine's only 600kB, so it sounds as if I can safely go a few more years with it.

I've toyed with migrating to something else (though I'd not heard of the one that you mention), but have no real intention of doing so. As you suggest, AceMoney is still serving me well, and I'm familiar with it. Also, I'd either need to keep it or migrate all my existing data if I still want access to that data.

I know what you mean.   I used Quicken for 21 years and it was great for a long time.  However, they went to a subscription only model and have seriously nobbled the version I paid for in 2017 - it's very very difficult to install it on a new machine.   Also, the database would corrupt every week or so.

I found Firefly III by asking AI for suggestions of replacements and I find it works really well.  It does take a bit of setting up though.

AceMoney looks to be very efficient in file size though - my Firefly DB is very large compared to that.
