in Phones & TV
I currently have Sky Broad Band Superfast at £37. a month and an additional £5.50 a month for the Boost.
I noticed there is a deal to switch to Sky Wifi Max and it shows this as £4 a month.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but would it be an extra £4. a month on top of the above or simply just £4 a month charge??
I also have the Anytime Extra on landline calls and am considering downgrading to the Pay As You Talk tariff as I hardly ever use the house phone anymore but I am concerned as the majority of my calls are to Call Centres (DWP etc), some of which don't charge but I am aware a lot do.
I would actually switch to Sky's Social Tariff for Broad Band and Phone as we claim UC but I am worried the drop in Broad Band speeds won't be enough to cope with our usage (2 adults always on mobile wifi and laptops plus streaming TV at same times!) and I would also drop to their Essentials TV package as we spend most of the evenings watching other streaming services.
Ideally I would like to ditch Sky altogether as our smart TV already supports Freeview (although that maybe due to the Sky Q box and satellite dish, so still happy to pay a one off fee for a Freeview box that pauses, rewinds and records 'live' tv. I have Firesticks so can easily get rid of the multiroom boxes as well.
I have spoken to Sky on several occasions and they won't allow me to switch to their streaming box never give a real reason why just say it isn't possible. I don't want a Glass TV.
Thanks for any helpful advice and suggestions.

No it’s not instead of what you pay , but it ( within limits ) gives you guarantees about WiFi speeds in every room ( and supplies WiFi extenders if necessary ) you get the latest Sky router ( if you don’t already have it ) and should you need a repair visit , the weekends are treated the same as Monday to Friday , so thats an additional £4 on top of what you currently pay , surely you didn’t really think your bill would be reduced by 90% from over £40 to £4 , why would the6 do that , what’s some how could they offer services for such a low figure .1

As to ditching Sky - why not turn off the Sky Box and check out what your TV offers on its own without the Sky box switched on via the plug? You could do it for a day or 2. I did that when I canceled and found:
1. Sky Q offered a very nice intuitive interface
2. I could negotiate iPlayer, Disney and Netflix without Sky interface via my TV
3. I would save about £200 ish by ditching Sky (I had Sky Sig, Movies and HD and Netflix)
4. Most movies are eventurally on the 3 streaming platforms I subscribe to. No need for Sky movies.
5. I was recording less and less because I could stream.0
