Morning allMorning Gers and thanks for your Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation!Awake very early this morning with leg cramp! It's going to be a long day. Sitting up in bed with 2 dogs, a cat and my laptop for company! DS and partner should be home early evening and I'll be back in my own bed tonight! The german shepherd is moulting. He's white so it looks like snow all around the house so will do some hoovering later and then after lunch will settle down to a good film methinksHope everyone has a good day and {{hugs}} for all the poorlies and their families x

We have a yellow wind warning here until tomorrow morning, it's been noisy all night. I'll get up shortly.
The drive to Glasgow and back yesterday was fine. Hygienist did her stuff, I enjoyed the air polishing bit, and I was back in the car in under an hour. As I was close by I picked up a portion of lasagna from the lovely Italian cafe before collecting the order from Waitrose. I bought a Dyson blade heater in the sale, still a bit dear even with over £100 off. A couple of friends have one and gave me rave reviews so I bit that bullet. I don't have central heating (no mains gas in the area) whilst the electric radiators are very expensive to run and not placed well. A quick burst of heat every so often will be good in the mornings before lighting the wood burner. We'll see!
@DP1 - congratulations on being awarded LCWRA, it must be a huge relief for you. @WL - that's such a long time to be dancing with the same side. @TA - it's good to have you back despite your bad health and sadness.Hugs to our poorlies. Keep safe in the wind.13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. You seem to be having some terrible weather.
Your new blade heater sounds good, I'm sure it'll be worth the expense.
We visited our friend yesterday morning, she'd had a fall a couple of days ago but was still in good spirits.
Another friend rang last night to tell us her husband had died - it was an expected. death, but still sad.
Dd called with the children after school yesterday, they were going to their cottage in the Durham Dales, but we'll see them at some point over the next week.
Dh is doing ok, thank you all so much for the good wishes. He has a couple of days off from hospital appts, till Monday. I don't know if we'll get to a funeral we would have gone to on Monday afternoon, but the family concerned know his situation, so won't be looking for us.
Wicked Lady, you've been dancing for a long time - will you miss it? Though you will still have the social bit if you're planning to still meet up.
Dp1, glad to read you'll be getting the LCWRA, as Gers says, what a relief.
I think I'll do a bit of shopping today, try and snaffle some of these cheap veg if I don't get killed in the rush.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of the sad and poorly people.
Take care folks.12 -
Morning all, in London with family, did the Globe theatre tour, Book of Mormon and Kew Christmas lights
back home to the coast today

Hi everyone,
We're making a flying visit to family on the Wirral, back home later after seeing friends for a catch up.
Well, as usual I am abandoning plans for some of the things I wanted to accomplish before Tuesday, I just won't have time, especially as Esben and Esther will need looking after on Monday. I'll be buying puddings instead of making them although not Christmas pudding, it's always wasted.
Good luck in the wind Gers.
Well done dp1.
Best wishes to all the poorly and sad.
Have a good day.

@Carolbee - what a treat! I hope that you enjoyed Book of Mormons, it's so very rude but equally so funny. @Scarlet - a rush for veggies sounds awful, I hope that you come out of it OK. @Snoozer - I don't like Christmas pudding or Christmas cake, think it's the texture of the dried fruit even when plumped. @Rosy - good to hear that your OH is improving.Just after posting my BT hub stopped, I did the unplug / replug thing which didn't help so then did the pin in the back hole bit which kicked started into the blue light again. I only use it for the smart home stuff, lights, blinds and electric blanket through Alexa. Because the service from BT broadband is so slow and dire I also have a 4G home hub which just plugs into the normal electric socket and uses the 4G network which means it stable and fast.Yesterday I received a text from NHS Highland to tell me to login to their app for a message about my referral to the orthopaedic surgeons. That generated great excitement until I found out that it was simply asking if I wanted to remain on the waiting list. Cue a big long sigh.I have plans to go out though will probably join Snoozer and abandon them if the already nasty wind continues to get worse. The other day I did a cotton wash at 30 degrees, popped in the new green pyjamas to soften them. Now I have four pairs of pale green knickers and my big swimming towel is also a light shade of green. Grrr... I know it'll all fade with further washes and nothing critical has happened, no outerwear but still! Now I'm off. Take care everyone.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting off. We have the yellow warning of wind and rain too. I am beginning to feel like a recluse it's been so long since I was out of the door. I did wonder about a quick venture into town this morning but when I saw what the weather has in store I decided to stay put. There are so many jobs I should be catching up on but I feel too weary. It's a long time since I have been knocked for six like this.
I still need fruit and veg and if I feel up to it tomorrow I may risk life and limb and go with DS to Sainsbobs. Otherwise both he and DD say they will get the stuff I need. I just think they have enough on shopping for their families without me presenting one of them with a list!
When SIL arrived yesterday she was telling me how busy everywhere is, roads, shops and sm's, now the silly season is upon us. Remind me how long the shops are closed for! She also had the sad news that she had lost her beloved old cat (she was 20) on Wednesday which was DB's 1st anniversary. So a doubly sad day for her.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
Best wishes to all for the weekend - no memory to mention specifics today I’m sorry.
I have no plans to go anywhere near a shop until very early in Tuesday when I collect the Christmas meat.
Just a trip in the loft to hide some boxes of ‘stuff’ before some visitors arrive later in the week.Take care all especially if you’re out and about with high winds and busy roads

Good morning.
It's the calm before the storm here, literally, we are forecast strong winds today.
Well, I think I've got over the shopping experience yesterday, although I woke up in the middle of the night still disbelieving it. It was as though the shops had been ransacked, and people were pushing and shoving to grab things! Good luck to anyone going today. I'm finished now until Tuesday when I'll pop out for bread.
Plans for today are to sort out the shopping i got and finish putting it away. No idea what's for dinner but will sort it later. What's the betting OH asks for something we haven't got. Tough.
Love and hugs to all who need them. Take care all.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
We have most of the Christmas food we need but will leave the veggies until Monday. 7 of us for dinner this year. I bought a large bar of chocolate for a nephew yesterday and packed it carefully only to drop it on the kitchen floor - oh dear, we will have to eat it then!
We are off to the panto this afternoon and are seeing ILs tomorrow for a coffee and mince pie/gift exchange. No big gatherings this year as no one’s really in the zone for it. SIL still in hospital and wanting to discharge herself but yet to have a psych assessment or reach 5st ☹️Hugs to you @TravellingAbuela - with your DB’s anniversary and feeling rubbish you’ve had an awful time of things xx
Good news about the LCWRA @dp1 x
Have a good day all and for those with bad weather, go steady x
