Ridiculous UKCPS paid for OBO by Lease Company

Hello all, after some advice please!
I currently lease a car through Leasing Options, the registered keeper of my car being Arval UK.
On 16th December I received an email from Arval saying that they had received a parking fine and had paid it on my behalf and that the costs including admin fee would be charged to me next month. The fine itself is ridiculous, please allow me to explain -
On 27th November I drove into LEEDS intending on parking in the very popular TRINITY CAR PARK which was unfortunately full. Because of this I've taken a right hand turn before the car park onto TREVELYAN SQUARE which changes into COMMERICIAL COURT. As I've progressed down the street I've pulled over to the left so that i could set my maps up to an alternate car park - Q PARK SOVEREIGN SQUARE. I've set off and gone about my day. The fine states that TREVELYAN SQUARE is no parking permitted at any time.
This is the photographic evidence provided.

From Google this is where I "parked".

There are no signs whatsoever regarding parking. That aside, I never parked, I stopped for all of 2 minutes.
Now firstly I would like to know if folk think I have a leg to stand on. My defence being that I never parked and that it is not sign posted so how was I to know. Also I have the brake lights on my car so I am clearly inside.
Secondly I want some advice on what to do now that the vehicle keeper has annoyingly paid on my behalf. They say:
"Your policy is set that wherever we can, we will transfer the liability of fines to yourself to pay or appeal directly.

We are unable to transfer liability on fines issued by UKCPS as they require a copy of the lease agreement and a signed liability statement from the driver, which we cannot provide due to sensitive data contained within. By law unpaid charges can be claimed direct from the registered keeper of the vehicle, the fines are therefore paid and rebilled back."
The online portal to appeal with UKCPS is no longer working due to the matter being settled.
Any help much appreciated

Would you be kind enough to explain what this means and how it effects my situation.

You have been correctly advised that there are no fines involved.
So the question is - does 'your policy' allow them to pay speculative invoices on your behalf?2 -
Your only recourse is to sue the lease company for being morons and breaching your consumer rights and, most likely, the terms of the lease agreement.
UKCPS are laughing all the way to the bank at your expense and your leasing company's utter stupidity.

Eh? What about chargeback?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
