UK Insurance LTD

Anyone have experience of dealing with UK Insurance LTD?
I reported a bump (my car-clutch at a stop- no visible damage/ no damage the other party could note at incident but 2 days later messaged me stating were scratches that she wanted sorted privately) to By Miles (i contacted my car insurance as a note of interest by duty-not a claim)and latterly have been contacted by UK Insurance (underwriter) and they protest that the best way to process any claim or even if the third party does not want to claim, they have to notify them. I felt like I received a car salesman pitch on the phone from them and wonder if they are just trying to tout business from my contact or if the third party wants me to privately cash out, settling away from UK Insurance is a better way to go? Any advice welcome.

U.K. Insurance Ltd is better known as Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege etc, back in the day they used to have several insurance companies and U.K. Insurance was the one used for white label arrangements. As the cost of running an insurance company spiralled they consolidated them all down into U.K. Insurance and most of the brands are now just trading styles of the company.

By Miles, for some reason, is slightly different in that it's legally an insurance intermediary but owned by DirectLine Group but still underwritten by U.K. Insurance.

As your insurers their job is to protect you. There are various stories on here of people deciding they want to settle things privately and so give the third party £500 for the damages, then the third party comes back saying the bill was actually £2,000 so want the extra £1,500. Then a month later a hire car bill turns up for £800. Then a letter stating that they are claiming for whiplash.

If you're happy risking all this then tell your insurers you will be dealing with it personally. If you want their assistance in ensuring you dont end up footing the bill for the spiralling costs then let them handle the claim.
