You aren't reading what people are telling you though.

The service you have linked to is for Driving instructors and other businesses to book tests, this is changing. The public use the .gov.uk public service which is not changing.

Why would there be any evidence to stating something is not changing?

Many of the rip off apps use the B2B service and will be effected. They are a waste of time anyway, you can use the public service and get to the same availability. Personal experience is that if you go onto that public site at the right time when they release the updates you stand a better chance than waiting for the apps to update.

Not everyone does their test in an instructors car. So there will have to be a way for those people to be able to book. That side is not changing.

It's here, as has been pointed out multiple times already

It doesn't state that. Why would it? Where does it state that you can still book your own driving test tomorrow? Or on January 2nd? Or in 2026? What's special about January 6th 2025, other than the fact that there are going to be some changes to a completely different service?

Websites tend not to come with statement that says "By the way this service will still be available on a specific random date some time in the future."

There is no need for DVSA to state that the service for individuals is not changing. It would just confuse people. The link I shared is clear about what is changing, the ‘professional’ portal for driving instructors.

There are multiple systems like these for bulk users of Govt services, other examples being portals for solicitors and accountants supporting people with probate or taxes.

There’s nothing on the Tesco’s website saying you’ll be able to buy baked beans after the 6th Jan, are you worried about that as well?

I have been looking at the new terms and conditions applying or changing a driving test.

IMO I believe from January 6th this can only be done by registered instructors or companies employing instructors

    My Son disagrees

The reason it has come up is my son paid almost £2000 for express lessons for my grandson inc a test in April

He got 21 hours in a month something I though was too fast, the company never found him an earlier test from April

Both my son and and I paid for apps to auto book a test sooner £60 and £18, both failed to find anything

My son also bought an app £9 that alerted him to test but did not book.

You have to be extremely quick but my son booked one on Christmas Eve 4 months sooner

How do you read the new rules ?
    No where in this

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/dvsa-sets-out-plan-to-reduce-driving-test-waiting-times

Does it mention personal booking of tests..
