Notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track received

Hi all,
I really hope I'm OK to post this and ask for help. I have been following the newbie thread all the way through to this point.
I today have received a "notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track.
DCBL have been chasing me on behalf of Secure Parking Solutions who are listed as the claimant.
For my defence, which I don't have a copy of at the moment, but can request, I was completely honest.
I parked on a side road off West Bromwich high street, which I didn't know was classed as private land as I was new to the area, I stopped due to my pregnant fiance feeling very unwell on the way from a doctors appointment during a troublesome pregnancy. I never noticed the signs advising it was private land. I had no intention of parking, but was just stopping so my fiancé could get fresh air. After receiving my first letter, I went back to the supermarket and at that point saw the signs saying private parking, however parking is free if you register your number plate at the terminus inside the store. Had I have known that, I obviously would have done that, but concerned for my partner was rushing to help her and then just get her home.
I know this may not be a solid defence, however it is ultimately the truth.
Any suggestions or advise please?

Not a good defence but too late now, unless a judge orders you to amend it in future
Just follow the 12 steps in the defence template sticky thread in announcements, plus post 2 in the newbies FAQ sticky thread there too1 -
should really have read the newbies thread before writing the defence - with any luck DCBL will discontinue anyway - look out for "offers" to settle out of court.2

Appreciate both responses. And I knew writing it that it wasnt going to be viewed as a good defence, however, foolishly maybe, I wanted to be honest about how unjust the situation is.
I assume any "offers" to settle should be ignored? And how they discontinue?

up to you - if they offer £20 to settle it may be worthwhile, if you stick it out you are 99% guaranteed to pay nothing, but you have to put up with all their bully boy tactics.endo14 said:Appreciate both responses. Please read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread. Mediation is covered there, as is the N180 form.endo14 said:Appreciate both responses. I assume any "offers" to settle should be ignored? And how they discontinue? In a few months time they will. Read the DCB Legal discontinuances thread by @UmkomaasPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, if possible I am just trying to confirm, if I am selecting "no" for D1, do I still need to fill out my information in E (re the mediation appointment?)
I have tried to look on the forum for the past hour, and also called the helpcentre, but I'm still not sure. Apologies for having to ask

Read post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements to see how to fill in the DQ form correctly
Mediation is now compulsory, also mentioned in the 12 steps in the defence template thread, possibly in the newbies thread post 2 as well
Those 2 threads have everything you need1
