Moving House/Ring cameras

We should be moving house soon so need to decide what to do re our floodlight Ring cameras.  Our buyers don’t seem to mind if we take them or leave them behind.  Apart from an already there Ring doorbell, we don’t feel that we will need the outdoor cameras (3) in our new house but will need to have a subscription for the doorbell.  Our options are to pay to get someone in to remove them, presumably providing certification for electrical safety, or to leave them in case our buyers choose to take out a subscription in the future.  I no longer have the boxes for the codes but if I remember correctly, each camera has a code on it which may or may not be easily read after 4 years of use.  Will it just be as simple as cancelling my current subscription as we leave or will it be more complicated?

  • If I was buying your house I'd like to be able to use the cameras - does the company still exist, can you telephone to see if you can pass on the subscription to the new owners?

You can remove them from your account and the new buyer can add them to theirs by scanning a QR code on the camera itself. I assume if they register them whilst still on your account you'll get an email to confirm/deny.

If you don't need them and don't want to pay to remove them then I'd just leave them for the buyer to sort out.

They need a subscription to record the footage but the doorbell and cameras will still work 'live' with a free account.

Ring very much exist, no need to call them as its easy to remove the cameras from the OPs account and the new owners just have to register with ring via the app and scan the QR codes on the cameras and set up their own subscription.
