Good morning, I couldn't sleep so I thought I might as well get up.
It seems to be dry, yesterday turned into a nice day after a wet start.
Thank you all , for your good wishes for my Dh, you're all so kind.
My visit to the Eye Hospital had a positive outcome yesterday! The consultant said he could operate to improve my eye problem ( distorted macula) He said it helps in 80% of cases so I'll give it a go. It could be done in the early spring, so not that long to wait.
Dh has his CT scan this afternoon so I'll get a few jobs done before we go.
TA hasn't posted for a few days, I hope she's ok. She wasn't well with a very bad cough. This flu seems to be hitting people hard, my Dd is recovering from it, she said she'd never felt so bad.
Hope everyone manages to have a good day, thinking of TA and other poorly ones. Take care folks.

Morning allThanks for starting us off Scarlet. Hope your eye solution is a successEarly one from me as I'm off to DS to menagerie sit as they're of early to catch the shuttle to go to Bruges for a few days.Have a good day all x12

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x That is positive news about your eye issue and definitely worth doing to improve the situation x
Ooh Bruges @Chrisca50 - am jealous of your DS. I bet it's lovely with the Christmas market etc.
Lovely to hear of the Christmas festivities @dp1 x
We spent yesterday Christmas shopping in our Kentish county town. Wasn't too busy but still didn't manage to get anything suitable for DS1 who is really tricky to buy for. I think he'll end up with money/voucher at this rate. We have our local pub quiz tonight for the first time, and I've persuaded DSis and BIL to come along too, so hopefully it'll be a bit of fun. SIL saying she wants to come home from hospital but we are concerned that BIL won't be able to be there 24/7 to care for her, as this is the 3rd (and worst) time she's been very underweight. All very worrying.
For those asking about PG - the evening was very informative and although I haven't yet read the book (Less) he talked about his research and experience in the industry. It made so much sense. Buy less, buy better, shop local etc. We had him sign our books afterwards and had a chat and a photo. He's very tall (or I'm very short!).
Have a good day all and hugs to our poorlies x

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet - and good news to boot. Happy animal sitting @Chrisca.The evening meal turned into a very nice evening so my grinchness soon disappeared. After the food we ended up playing a chaotic game of 'would I lie to you' though only one person could make up a lie so we ended up telling anecdotes which were mostly really interesting. Still, I was in bed by 9.30 p.m. so wasn't too late. No-one was drinking alcohol because of the strict driving laws so everyone was jolly without being drunk. This morning I've got a nail appointment then the last pool exercise class of the year and the meeting up with an acquaintance for a long needed catch up. The weather is so much colder than recently, there was the beginning of ice on my car last night. At least the blooming rain has stopped for a while.Keep warm and hugs to our poorlies. Thanks for the songs @Taff.11

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons, good news from the eye hospital
It's wet out but the forecast says it will be dry later, hope so, as I've got my walk this morning.
Nothing planned for afterwards.
TA hope you're starting to feel better
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning folks. I'm still here and trying to read along but my brain isn't digesting what I am reading.
I'm now on Day 4 of the anti b's for the chest infection and the best I can say is that my cough is easing at least. Otherwise I still feel poorly but can't put my finger on what I feel poorly with. Still no appetite at all and not an ounce of energy. Tackling the stairs feels on a par with scaling Everest. It's role reversal with DD, I am suddenly the child being told I will never get my strength back if I don't eat!
Thoughts of Christmas are passing me by and fortunately I am not doing any entertaining. I shall be at DD's most of the time but I do contribute lots of things, still to be bought! I just hope I have picked up enough to shop for the essentials at least at the w/e. It's 2 weeks since I was last outside and 3 weeks since I last did any shopping but as the freezer is still stuffed I am ok for day to day stuff. Sadly I must sort out the fridge as goodness knows what is stagnating in there and will need binning.
Sorry for the ongoing moaning but I live in hope I will feel better soon. Take care all and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or lonely. Take care stay safe xx

Good morning
At least the wind has died down a bit, although it's still breezy. And the rain last night, wow it really hammered it down.
No plans for today, only the usual chores. Left over pie for dinner tonight, probably with chips and peas.
Izzy, I feel your pain being married to a fusspot. My Dh doesn't eat pasta or rice and there's only so much you can do with potatoes.
TA, take it easy and heal gently.
Scarlet, good news about the eye op. Best wishes to your Dh for the scan.
SO, enjoy your walk, hope the weather's kind to you.
Hugs to all who need them, take care10 -

Morning! Not raining and almost sunnyKitchen is tiled! he said he would come back to silicone because it was too wet to do it yesterday but otherwise, the new kitchen is open for business. I have the shower head to put in citric acid today [ very bunged up with limescale], the sink and shower to put drain cleaner down, the freezer to move, a wood delivery at midday and some things to deliver, and then OHs mums for tea tonight. Of course I bought things in Ikea, some bags, which I needed, and some stuff which I did not [ large trifle bowl - £2 ] and a double pack of small tongs [I use them for teabag squishing] and some packets of the gravy for the meatballs. I do want to get some bread too, I'm drawing blanks on breakfast otherwise, it's just easier to have cottage cheese on toast. [Yes, I put it under the grill to warm up, I like the texture change]
TA, good to see you posting , fingers crossed for rapid improvement! Scarlet, also good to hear they can hopefully sort out your eye, hoe the scan goes quickly for your DH.Coxy, interesting, I can get behind anyone whose message is reduce reuse etc or even don't be in the position to do that in the first place. Hope your SiL can work something out to everyone's benefit. Ruby, subtitles not an option? Allie, well done on finishing your wrappingIzzy, I'm not sure I could put up with that, I love my food and I love variety, even if the OH doesn't eat beans [it's texture thing] at least he eats everything else I put in front of him or he goes hungry. You and remmie are welcome to send them here for re-education
Take care people, stop worrying about things you can't change, or think or things you can instead
