Approved Money Advisor - Scottish DAS

Hi

I'm currently in a DAS and my Approved money advisor has emailed to say the company has been sold to a rival and i need to agree for the new company to become my new Approved Money advisor. I can refuse this. Seems straightforward if everything was to remain the same, but do i really need an Approved Money Advisor if my DAS has been up and running for 2 years now. If i no longer have an advisor then surely more of my monthly payment would go towards my debt?
I don't know if this is a ridiculous train of thought but was just having a think and cant find any definitive information online.

Many Thanks

You have the choice of which approved money advisor you use, the scheme is delivered free by approved money advisers, by local council money advisers, by Citizens Advice Bureaux or by other Accountant in Bankruptcy approved money advisers.

    But there are also s
ome advisers that work in the private sector and will make a charge for the service.

They act in a similar way to an IP in an IVA, but you have to use one to be in the scheme.
