Looking for a recommendation for b&b/hotel accommodation in Venice for a short break in April. There's such a lot on the web and reviews are so mixed. Can you help?

Hi,
Can't recommend this B&B enough > http://alcampaniel.tripod.com
I stayed there by myself and then at a later date my parents stayed there too, with no complaints. Owners are really friendly and it's got a great location about 100yards from a vaporetto stop. Perhaps the only downside would be there aren't any views from the rooms, but unless you're paying mega bucks you'll find it hard to get 'a room with a view'.
This B&B >http://www.bedandbreakfastalteatro.com/index_ing.htm < was also recommended on another site, and quite fancy trying it next time I go back.
As for hotels this is brilliant > http://www.morihotel.com, but can be a bit pricey but they do have offers. Lovely hotel in a nice quiet location with plenty of restaurants near, a bit away from the centre but nothing is too far in Venezia. Parents stayed there when visiting me once and they loved it.0 -
Satyed here in September - fab hotel, very small and quiet and just wonderful - look at https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk for useful information for your stayTitch0

I'd recommend doing a search on Venere - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
PM me if you want a 4% discount code.
I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.
Hope that helps
PS - I'm not connected to this website in any way, and I don't gain anything from this post. I also found the discount code on another forum.0 -
herman,
I'm sorry, I do not believe that you are not connected with Venere, as it is all that you post on the Travel board! There are plenty of very good hotel websites out there, without you pushing the same one every single time.
Why not just post the discount code on the Discount Codes board, and then people can choose to use it should they wish.Gone ... or have I?0 -
if you can afford it stay near san marco piazza because otherwise you will find it really hard to find your way about the city. san marcos piazza is really well sign posted from every where but is expensive.0

Thank you for your help. I have found somewhere that seems to be ok, and with a twin room, thank goodness.0

I stayed here for a few nights a couple of years ago in a double room with a friend. There was an en-suite shower toilet room and a tv,but not very modern. It was very reasonably priced considering how close it was to St.Marks and all.The staff were all friendly and it was fine for somewhere to sleep, certainly nothing special, but it suited us and I would recommend it as an option.

edit-just looked at the prices again,we didn't pay that much,I think we payed about £30 a night,maybe I did it through a late deals site,cant remember now0
