Mortgage offer has a different solicitor on it

Hi everyone.
I am delighted to receive my mortgage offer a few days ago but I am a bit concerned. Under conveyancing, there is a different solicitor to the one I have.
My feeling is that my mortgage advisor has appointed me a solicitor when I already have one. I have already paid for disbursements and completed local searches.
I'm a bit concerned about what to do next because I have already paid the fees to my mortgage advisor. I also think if I talk to them they may try to railroad me into using 'their' solicitor.
Is this something that can easily be amended on my mortgage offer and should I speak to my advisor about changing it?
Thanks as always

Just speak to your advisor about changing it. Are you sure the one you picked is on the panel?1

As housebuyer143 is alluding to, if your chosen solicitor is not on the lender's panel the lender will instruct a panel to act for it, at your expense. You then have the choice of retaining your solicitor and paying two sets of fees for separate representation, or use the lender's chosen solicitor for both.
If you post the lender and your preferred solicitor details we may be able to check the panel listing.I am a mortgage broker. Is it a different firm listed or a different solicitor in the same firm listed?
If its a different solicitor from the same firm listed i wouldnt be concerned but if it is a different firm i would raise this with your advisor. As others say it could be your chosen firm isnt on the panel of your lender.0 -
Thanks for the comments. I spoke to my advisor and it was quite straightforward to amend in the end. I was just getting panicky as it has been a long process to get to this point.0
