Hi!
in 2020 I bought a shop that had a house attached as one whole building, the house had an internal door in one of the ground floor rooms that accessed the shop.
in 2020 I bought a shop that had a house attached as one whole building, the house had an internal door in one of the ground floor rooms that accessed the shop.
When I bought it, I separated them by cutting off the access and registering with the council for two separate addresses and with royal
mail etc. and setting up independent energy supplies.
The house is number 12 and we did the shop as 12a.

Anyway, if I wanted to sell either of them they would be sold separately so would I need to have the amendments made legally or with the land registry before then? Hopefully this makes sense.
Thank you

Did you not need to get planning permission for them? if yes, then you’re going to have to make a retrospective application. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You'd need to check what land registry has for the properties. If it's still down as one property you will need to get that changed before selling AFAIK. The land registry boundaries will form part of the sale.0
