Online registration using bond holders account no

I have been trying to register my premium bond number online to enable me to purchase premium bonds. My bonds were originally bought by my mother probably 60 years ago. I have recently found a yellow card from nsandi with my bond holder account no My name and date of birth. I have repeatedly tried to input this information online to register only to get message unable to register at ppresent please try later. At one point last week i did get to the security section asking for security details but unfortunately timed out before I could complete,which leads me to believe my old bond holder number is acceptable. I have contacted nsandi twice by telephone trying to resolve. I was advised to fill in form confirming my details which I did followed by further letter asking me to sign form which I did. Have now received letter form nsandi confirming they have all my details up to date,however still unable to register online. Anyone had similar issue and have they been able to resolve. All I am trying to do is purchase more bonds however I dont think I am able to register as new purchaser as already have existing account.

    Not sure if this is any help but I was in exactly the same situation a few months ago.  But I approached it the opposite way and it was successful. I registered online as if I had no prior holdings and bought some premium bonds. 

    A few weeks later I then wrote to them with all the details of my old holdings (also brought by parents 60 years ago for me) and the details of my new online account.  I signed this letter and to play safe also had a neighbour witness the signature.

    Shortly afterwards ( and somewhat to my surprise) I got a letter confirming all had been sorted and the holdings combined.
  • Many thanks colalba for your comments. I have recently posted a nsandi form requesting registration. My understanding is that they should now post back a nsandi number and temp password which should allow me to register my account and proceed with purchase of further premium bonds. Failing this I will register as new account and then send confirmation letter as you did. Just a comment but nsandi seem very behind the times regarding communication as nearly everything needs to be done by post if you are unable to register online. I asked if I could complete paper forms and send electronically via email etc but they will only accept postal. Hopefully this can be resolved and again thanks for your kind help
