Payment of CCJ

Hi all any advice would be gratefully received as I’m a bit lost!
In a nutshell:
- CCJ dated Sept 2019 for a parking fine I wasn’t aware of (I had stupidly forgotten to change my address with the DVLA so ended up with a judgment in default). The total debt is now around £290.
- I only realised I had the CCJ when I checked my credit file earlier this year. It drops off my credit file September 2025 but I need to move house in early 2025 for personal reasons.

- I’m a good earner but my credit score is being held back by the CCJ. My mortgage broker has advised me to pay off the debt in full asap so that it at least shows as “satisfied”. He’s reluctant to apply for a new mortgage for me until this is done.
- I’ve found out who I need to pay for the CCJ. My question is I suppose: am I doing the right thing in paying the CCJ now? It’s only £300 but stings to have to pay for a parking fine I knew nothing about (and only got because I didn’t enter my registration plate into an iPad in a medical centre!)). Should I offer a lower amount? Keen to get the whole thing sorted asap.
Thanks for reading!

If you pay it off it still appears on your file, marked settled
If you set it aside, it disappears
Suggest you ask on the Parking board. The NEWBIES thread has the process1 -
