British gas sent huge bill

Not a BG customer but did I read something on these forums about them not doing variable DDs once customers were transferred to the new system? I'm sure someone was complaining about it a while ago.

We have sorted it with them now, and re set up a variable DD. I wouldn't have stayed with them if they weren't doing variable DD. Before we went variable they wanted to take over £600 a month! Some months we dont even use £100. Our account was always in credit, but they would not let us have it back, to 'cover' what they thought we would use over winter. So. Yes. They are doing variable DD. They dont like it though.

@Alnat1 @witchwood BG definitely do offer MVDD if you had it on their old billing system, but my understanding is that you can only have MFDD if you join them as a new customer.  BG aren't customer friendly.
