Whats the best course for C1 7.5 tonne entitlement on my license?

Hi. I could make use of the category C1 entitlement to drive vehicles rated to 7.5 tonne but a lot of the courses i see advertised online seem to be a bit of a rip off. Extra charges for the medical test, a bit more to organise the theory test.... i know these places are in business to make a profit, but being as ive done all that myself already, I wonder what other unnecessary charges are built into the training packages I see offered. That said, although I have a good few years experience driving large vans and pulling trailers for that matter, my confidence with those vehicles does not translate into competence to pass the required test.

So, my question is, I have done the medical checks and I have passed both my Hazard Awareness and Multiple Choice Theory Test, I have experience driving large vehicles, but what is the most cost effective way now to get me through the C1 practical driving test?

Find people who have done similar courses local to you and who would recommend places.  But just because they did well with the
instructor does not mean they are the best for you.  It can cary a lot.

Book single lessons to see whose instruction you prefer.

Best speak to the training organisations to see if they'll just do the parts you need. As above, try a couple of places to see which suits you. When I did my HGV training (years ago) I had sample lessons with two places and they were as different as chalk and cheese.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
