Impetant charge
I've got a better idea with all the wind farms & solar farms that are cropping up in this
" new" age
Why not just give us out electric for Free & give us a standing charge instead for all the
" costs" & " outlay " that would pay for all the upkeep
I could live with a 360 quid standing charge every year

How do you expect free electricity to resolve the issues of replacing fossil fuels? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
When the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing in winter. Will you be cooking on a barbeque in the garden while the family sit around a camp fire to keep warm. That's free electric.0

How is not charging people for the electricity they use going to encourage them to use less of it (which is what we want ?)
The more electricity that is used, the more needs to be generated.....0 -
I'm struggling to find a meaning for the word "Impetant". It's not in my Concise Oxford Dictionary, which jumps from "impervious" to "impetigo". Even the almighty Google draws a blank unless the OP made a brief foray into Latin.Reed2

The impetus is with the current status quo.

Well if you want change, it's important to maintain the impetus without becoming impatient.Reed1
