Hi, i am on LPG with a 2200lt tank & a few years ago we fitted a meter so we could keep an eye on usage & costs. This meter is in the bungalows loft next to the boiler & is ok. But now i am nearer 70 & could do without climbing into the loft to get a reading. So, we was thinking lets change the meter to the newer SMETS2 meter & keep an eye on cost via the remote screen.
Question is:? i can get a meter & a smart reader, but will it work if i dont have DCC "Data Communications Company" This is whats used for billing by your supplier. Will the smart meters work without this ? Cheers

A regular smart meter won't work for you. You'd need to pay thousands for DCC access. The sort of meter used by landlords for sub-metering might work, but you'd have to ceck with the company that supplies it.
