I filed the MCOL on 16/01 and I understand that I now have until tomorrow to submit my defence (my own fault for leaving it very late).
You are mistaken with your Defence filing deadline.

    - Claim Form (Civil National Business Centre) issue date 09 Jan 2025.
    - AoS submitted via MCOL 16/01/25
    - Nothing else done on MCOL, treating as read-only

With a Claim Issue Date of 9th January, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service('AOS') in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 11th February 2025 to file a Defence.

That's several days away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an AOS has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.
Thanks very much KeithP, that's saved me a late night trying to sort this after the kids have gone to bed tonight!

Would I be best to base my defence on the fact that I had tried to pay the original amount etc,
    No

or should I continue with the standard para 3
Yes. The one I linked that starts 'Regarding the POC'...

in terms of not admitting to being the driver?
No!  Where on earth did you pick that up from?  That's not the defence point to copy!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi. I'm finishing off my defence letter and I just want to check on the new template para 3 referred to earlier in this thread, specifically this part: No PCN was "issued on 06/02/2020" (the date of the alleged visit).

DCB Legal emailed the photos, one of which I've included in this thread, however there is also a close up of the 'Parking Charge Notice' which was placed under one of my wiper blades, with the auto time/date stamp in the top left of the photo.

Would I be wise to amend para 3 on this basis or should I leave it as it is please?

If it was issued on the incident date,  then amendments are required  ( Usually no pcn is issued to a vehicle on the incident date,  especially ECP  )

Ok thanks Gr1pr.  It was issued on the incident date, so I'll get that amended.

Just to update - I've emailed the defense letter with the new standard para 3, with the parts about the PCN removed, but no other amendments. I've received the auto response to confirm receipt of the mail.  Thanks everyone for your help so far.  I'll keep this thread posted with any updates.

So I hope that your emailed defence was more like this example below,  especially with a suitable ending in 2 and this paragraph 3 with only the date changed
