Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -

Massive storage heater ??????Have you spoken to many people who live in these properties? Or lived in one? The walls NEVER feel warm - massive storage cooler more like!

Shame the OP @Still_trying_to_work_it_out hasn't come back to say what he's discovered about the status of the Gas Supply to the property from his Gas Transporter https://www.findmysupplier.energy who should be able to advised if there's a suitable capped supply present.1

Phones4Chris said:@Still_trying_to_work_it_out Ouch oil-filled radiators, expensive to run if on a standard tariff!
Is there a Capped incoming gas supply pipe where the meter used to be?
I would get on to the Gas Network Operator to find out the status of any gas supply pipe to the property, I would say just assuming what may or may not be (Freebear's comment) is not a good starting point.
Once you know that your are then in a position to discover what it may cost to have gas.
We have since spoken with the previous owner and he said that when the gas supply pipework was upgraded many years ago (the supply to the house) he told them not to bother doing his as he wasn't using gas.
I think we are going to have a look at some other options. Thank you for all your replies.0 -
