Freeview box problem

Have a new freeview box, it found channels and worked fine for a couple of days, but now it isn't working, ie cannot pick up any signal, so no channels. We unplugged it and re set it last night and it was working ok, but this morning it has gone again! We have another freeview box in another room which is continually working and as all the tvs come off the same ariel surely that can't be the problem? Could it be a faulty box? Any ideas anyone? Thanks and Happy New Year!

Certainly sounds like a faulty box, but just to confirm, swap the two boxes over just to check that it's not the wiring from the aerial to the rooms that's at fault.Charlie0

Have a look at the Reception Help section of this http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/reception.html
"Connecting to extra TVs, long cable runs, or looping through video recorders can all reduce the signal that's getting to your Freeview box."
You may need a booster to supply both boxes with a decent signal.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
It may be your aerial, the freeview tuner on our tv is not nearly as good asthe one on our Humax box and requires a much stronger signal.0

I had the same problem. TV's in the bedrooms worked fine with a loft aerial and standard coax.
I had to replace both the aerial (with high gain broadband) and the coax (with quality NTL cable, both off Ebay) to get the freeview to work properly, but wouldn't go back now.0
