Car insurance write off help

  • I was also advised by the insurer that if I do write it off I should get the unused part of my premium back so that's a factor here too
    I think you've misunderstood that...
  • Here in writing:
"If your vehicle is declared as a total loss and if we deal with you claim as a total loss, your policy will be cancelled, number of days on cover will be calculated and the remaining days (Till renewal) premium will be refunded."
  • Anyway thanks seems advice is take the write off although they are having one more crack at appraising the repairs and hopefully getting it below the threshold where they write it off, but does seem unlikely for reasons mentioned above

You're driving a banger, get it written off and repair with second hand parts then run it into the ground.  Being Cat N at that level will have little too no bearing anyway take photos before repair if that worries you.
