Can anyone identify these tiles please?

Options
Looking to extend the hearth rather than remove, original from 1960s chalet on the south coast (Hampshire). They’re 300mm sq and approximately 1 1/4” thick.

the nearest I can see from searching is Spanish terracotta.

Thoughts gratefully appreciated!

Poole Pottery?  Lots of buildings have more tiles than is normal in the vicinity - Hampshire is just a couple of miles away.

I note that but I doubt if you will find a perfect match so adding extra tiles will stand out somewhat. Even if the tiles match, will the grout match?

Why not remove the existing tiles and replace with all new tiles covering a larger area? For not very much extra cost that will probably give a better result.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

You could fframe current hearth in a contrasting tile
  • To narrow down the search use Google Lens to identlfy the tiles. Though if you don't highlight the tiles in the image it will match pictures of the dog.

There used to be a lot of imports from Spain and Italy back then and up until the 80's.
I was going to suggest GLens too.

I take it you want to bring it forwards?
Not much room at the side.
Or you could use a fire surround.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

  • Thanks all, I think I’m going to have to either take them up, or get a slate/tiled hearth over the top and extend
