EDF Sunday saver Econ 7 fair use - help!

I've read the other thread but can anyone please explain how this actually works?
I have 16 hours of 'free' electricity to use tomorrow. Before I go wild with the tumble dryer, how can I work out what I'm using so that it fits the fair use policy? The IHD I have for the smart meter rarely works as it drops out so I can't see what I'm using at any given time. Also, as I'm on Econ 7 does this mean I'll get a credit back some time for day use, night use or what...? As my Ecn 7 kicks in for 1 1/2 hours before midnight, are my storage heaters likely to go over the fair use? How can I check?
Any help appreciated as I would love to reduce my electricity bill, without turning off the heating!!

What is the worst that can happen?
Presumably, they charge you at the standard rates for your excess use based on the time of use?
Unless you are going to run multiple extension leads to your neighbours, or quickly set up a cannabis growing facility, I really wouldn't worry about it. Just shift whatever load you can from what is left of today and Monday to tomorrow and enjoy the free electricity.0 -
I don't want to start using everything on the expensive day rate if I go over and am going to be charged for it. It's the presumably that I'd like someone to clarify, as someone on the other thread said they weren't calculated at the correct day rate.lohr500 said:What is the worst that can happen?
