                    Hi
I had a corner settee and a snuggle chair delivered from NEXT who use their delivery drivers to attach feet on the sofa once it has been delivered. The two drivers did not know what they were doing and made a complete mess of the job. NEXT provided a technician after 4 weeks who came and agreed it was a bad job and took the feet off and re-attached them. I complained to NEXT for the error made and the fact that my brand new settee’s now has holes that should not have been made despite the feet being corrected and I was not happy about this. They offered me £60.00 as a good will gesture fort the mistake and the delay in the technician coming to fix this. Before I accept or refuse, does anyone think this is an acceptable amount? Initially I would have expected at least £100 but would like to know what you think
thanks

If the holes are in the base of the sofa and are not visible I can’t see the problem.0

In what way are the holes impacting on either the use or the aesthetics of the settee?Because if you’re seriously concerned about them, you should be getting a new settee not a goodwill gesture. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Are these holes in the base of the sofa and not visible or does the arrangement of the feet mean that the holes are visible somehow?cgee05 said:Hi

If the latter, then I'd be looking for the sofa to be made good or replaced so that the holes are not visible.
If the former, I'd say there is no loss and everything has been sorted. A goodwill gesture - whether £60 or £100 = is a nice-to-have.
There might be a different conversation if you suffered some actual loss but that does not appear to be the case.0 -
What percentage of the cost of the goods does £60 represent ?0

            Thank you all.
the holes are not visible, I just know they are there and wish they weren’t in case they have some impact in the future after long term use.
£60 represents 1.7% of the cost.

Next drove the 7.5 ton truck over our lawn when delivering, I had to purchase a pack of grass seed and stamp back down the high spots! They paid £250 compensation for this. They are most welcome to do it again.
