Morning all. Predicted to be a brighter day today, which seems to be true so far.
Not so worried about going down to Hemel now, as the organiser has told me where to park. Plus there's a small cafe so I can have a coffee if I'm there early.
Hopefully tidied up one problem yesterday, as my Morris side was underpaid on an invoice for a recent performance and I was asked to follow it up. Not my favourite thing to do but I've send a carefully worded email and will see what happens.
Sausages, wedges and red onion planned for tonight and then we'll be settling down to see the Strictly final. I've booked to see Fisherman's Friends in concert at Aylesbury in November and noticed that Chris McCausland is also doing a show there so don't know whether to book for that as well.
Hope everyone's day goes well.11 -
Morning all. Yay, we have sunshine and blue skies! Looks like it's a one-day only event though but I'll take that.
I've had a lie in this morning and feel so much better for it, unlike yesterday when I felt like I was walking through treacle. I managed to trim up the little tree and find some candles for the candlesticks on the mantel, cooked a gammon joint (well, the SC did, I just put it in there) and the usual daily stuff. The mince pies are still waiting to be made but there's no rush. Meal plan done for the coming week, very little shopping needed.
A bit more "sadmin" in the form of two letters received, one from HMRC and one from the DWP, no action needed so that's two more things off the list. I also noticed when I checked my bank account that no payment has been taken for this month's CT; I'm guessing they're still working out a new bill based on my application for the 25% discount for a single household.
On the cards for today - slice/freeze the gammon, bake a loaf, mop kitchen/hall floors and maybe start on the sofa cleaning. I say maybe because I need some more leather cleaner. I'm hoping to be able to watch the Strictly final tonight but it all depends on the engineering works at the transmitter. Last week we couldn't get any ITV/C4/E4 channels and this week it's BBC.
I didn't see a post from TA yesterday, I hope she's OK.
Have a good weekend and take care, especially those who are planning the brave the scrum at the shops! Hugs for those who want or need them. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all... Bit of a departure for today's carol, this is one of my favourites, but it's much better sung than written. (This is not the most polished version, but it is made by Lviv Best, a Ukrainian Channel)

Morning all
Dry here and we are promised a bit of sun later which will be nice. DD is off for a night away with her young man to see some friends so just OH and I here for dinner which will be steak and chips with garlic mushrooms I am trying to recreate the mushrooms we had a couple of times in Barcelona the secret ingredient is apparently two spoons of sherry that’s not a drink we normally have in so I bought some to try it.
We got the tree yesterday but the trunk needs trimming a bit so OH will do that today and then I can decorate it we got the dresser done which looks lovely and the old trunk in the lounge has been done, OH will also put the outside lights up today.
Had my nails done yesterday and it’s totally my fault but I really dislike them, she did exactly what I wanted but it just doesn’t look right, I have gone for a French polish but with brown tips and it just looks like I have been gardening 😂 so I have made another appointment for next Saturday to put it right bless my nail lady who squeezed me in before Christmas.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, the sun was out this morning, I can't remember when I last saw that. Yesterday I did a rather large online shipping order shop which is coming tomorrow. I shall have to apologise to he driver for having to make so many journeys to bring it up the steps 😧
I too enjoyed Masterchef which I don't normally watch, but it must have been really hard to choose from the last 3 standing.
Today I shall be pottering around until I go for a much needed haircut this afternoon, I look like the dulux dog again ! I normally go with DD but she's selling at another fayre today so Mr Fix It will drop me off as it's only in the next village. Maybe we'll stop off at the chippy shop on the way home for our tea, the new owners have now opened it all day on Sat and the food is lovely, can't beat a good fish and chips.
taff thanks for that change, I enjoyed it.
Rosy nice to see you posting hope RL doesn't get in your way too much.
Have a good day whatever you have in store. Take care and hugs x

Hi everyone,
Sorry I've been mia lately, life has just been a bit too hectic. Lots of childcare involved at the moment and I'm feeling really tired - I've got the Es together by myself tomorrow afternoon as well. We had Nate on Wednesday and we brought him back here because Esther was around, it was lovely seeing them together.
This evening we are going to a winter walk at Cambridge Botanic Gardens with the whole family, hopefully it will be good and at least the weather is co-operating this week.
I only watch the professional masterchef, I don't like John Torode or Gregg Wallace and the latter is diluted a lot more in the professional one. The last few contestants were exceptional this year. Pottery Throwdown next. I have heard they're doing a knitting competition which I can't quite see working, it takes so long to knit a garment.
Have a good day.

Gers, yes! I saw his work on money for nothing, love his cows. Love his work really too, some of it is not what you'd think by looking at him, his flower and leaf and natural stuff is lovely. Thanks Allie, I do love seeing a wip, I could watch stuff like that for hours. I will watch it entirely when OH goes off to play COD...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8
