Interest/income distribution from offshore bond fund ETF

Hello,

Just completing my self assessment for 23/24 tax year.  I own an offshore bond ETF that has UK reporting status.  I received a dividend from this fund in the 23/24 tax year that I assumed counts as interest (fund is ~100% bonds).

Just want to make sure that this dividend should be entered into the "untaxed foreign interest" box of the SA online form?  I presume so in which case it looks like the £1k interest allowance can reduce the tax I pay on this.

Or should this dividend be entered elsewhere as another income, in which case where?

I should add that there was no excess reportable income.

Yes it sounds like it would be treated as an interest distribution, which should be confirmed in the fund's prospectus or annual report. There is a threshold below which this can be added to the normal SA form as untaxed foreign interest without having to add the foreign pages.

Can't see anywhere about tax treatment but it is a bond fund so probably fine to assume interest income.  The amount I received was less than £2k so I included the figure in the normal SA box instead of foreign pages.
