really looking for some help.
received a letter from Rebate Gateway claiming to be working along side HMRC. looked all legit so completed the forms and returned the information they needed. wasn’t until after something didn’t feel right and i think i have been scammed. please could someone advise what i need to do to stop them from sending me charges or messing up with my tax etc?

It's not a scam, it's just paying for something you can do yourself (as they make clear). 

You can cancel within the first 14 days of starting the contract with them, but after that you are still liable for their fees even if you cancel the contract. Read the T&Cs to determine if you're still able to cancel with no fees.

so it says you can cancel within 14 days free of charge, i completed the forms yesterday and sent the cancellation today so hopefully that will be cancelled. I spoke with someone on their live chat function and they were extremely rude. would it be worth contacting HMRC direct?

HMRC have no control over what is a private company you are paying to assist you.
