Universal credit and Junior ISA

My son has a Junior ISA, which I pay £50 a month in to save for university. He will turn 18 while still at school so I will receive UC until the end of his A levels. When he is 18, will the savings be taken into account for UC? The only other savings I have is a help to save account.

Your son's savings should have no affect on your UC claim.Only if DWP suspected you were directing your own capital into your son's account to either maintain or increase your benefits would they ask questions.1

Thank you. I wasn't sure if the fact that he will be 18 would make a difference.0
