Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, fingers crossed for your OH.
I've not had time to post lately, there's so much to do! Work understandably has been more than busy so has been a bit all consuming. Plus, I've been out meeting friends 3 times this week and really need a rest!
Sounds like a wonderful time Ruby, hope you saw those crocodiles!
Hope your leg improves Nanny.
A very belated Happy Birthday taff.
Let's hope there's further improvement with your SIL Coxy.
Hugs to anyone in need.
It's been icy and foggy all week, I'm almost looking forward to some rain! The car park at work was so icy yesterday I was hanging on to the fence when trying to get in.
Take care everyone. XX13 -
Good morning again.
Thank you , all you lovely people, for your good wishes to my dh, you are all so kind. He is booked in for MRI and CT scans next week, things are moving quickly.
It was the same for me when I had cancer in 2016, I had surgery a fortnight after diagnosis. Pretty good I thought.
We are still going away for the weekend as planned, it'll be a nice change.
The weather seems ok here, cold and dry, so not too bad.
Hoping everyone has as good a day as they can, thoughts to our poorly people.
Take care folks, and thanks again for your kindness.14 -
Morning allGlad to hear things are moving along quickly Scarlet. I agree with you, I had the same experience with NHS a couple of years ago when they found cancer and I had to have a hysterectomy. Things worked so quickly and smoothly. They were wonderful.Had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday with my friend/colleague.Looks dark, cold, damp and miserable outside.A bit of hoovering and mopping to do later. Not sure what's for dinner. Will have to have a runmmage to see what I fancy later.Have a good day all x12

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Enjoy your w/e away,
Feeling like a wrung out dish rag seems like a permanent state of affairs these days. Still coughing none stop but hopefully the gunge I am bringing up is better out than in/ The dental procedure yesterday really knocked me for six and I came home and slept solidly on the sofa for 6 hours. Put on my fleecy pj's and fell asleep again until 2 a.m. Dragged myself up to bed and slept till 6.30 a.m. I wish I could say I felt better for all the sleeps but I don't. I thought that was the last appointment but no I am back again in the new year.
Fortunately no plans for today so if I need more sleeps I am giving in to them. I should be colouring my hair as hairdresser is due tomorrow but I really cba with that job. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning All
Up with the larks as I'm DGC sitting whilst DD in London for work so driving DGD to school.
DH decided to stay home... DGC will stay at ours on Friday night so nana can have a lie in !
She has a cat and dog the later who decided to whine outside my room last night then gave up and went into DGS room.
Saw our hospitalised friend and consultant yesterday no further news about his transfer just hoping it is sorted before Christmas
Like others I am very grateful to the NHS as my treatment in January was very quick and thorough.
TA hope you get some more sleep today and you start to feel brighter.
Scarlett hope you enjoy your weekend away.
Hugs to all our sad and poorlies and to anyone who wants them.
Have a good day all

Morning all
Dull and overcast here but no rain due which is something, I am off to collect Rob and take him to work his group had their Christmas dinner yesterday and he was beyond excited it is another group today so the excitement will build again, he knows that Christmas is coming but he has no idea when it just builds and builds for him and there is no way of explaining to him that we have a couple of weeks yet.
Dinner tonight will be the jacket spuds we were meant to have yesterday dd and OH did not fancy them so we had spag bol instead, the JP will be had tonight as I got some chilli out of the freezer which OH will have on his.
We are going to get our Christmas tree tomorrow so we can start decorating I do love all the twinkley lights, I am having a small party next Tuesday for all my people and some friends so need it nice before then.
TA I hope you feel better soon I am on week four of my cough but it is mainly gone now just the odd burst of coughing now xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -

Morning all -it's chilly here, not as bad as yesterday but I think the wind is an easterly which is always the worst.I'm waiting for a sparky to arrive, he's going to fix the missing earth from the stair light. I have no idea why it's missing as I had the whole place rewired in 2013 before I moved in. He also wants to check other stuff so I've emptied out the under-sink cupboard and chucked some unused cleansers. I've found so many new cloths I may have to give some away. It's swimming pool exercise class later this morning, after that I have no idea. Because I live so remotely, family are all in different countries and I'm retired I've only got one Christmas do to attend. I don't mind as I have never enjoyed the majority of them, I really want Christmas to be in the summer months when it's not dark.I hope that everyone is doing well, keeping going and heading for better days.10

Morning everyone
Looks like the suns going to come out here - yesterday was a nice bright day though very cold.
Yesterday I went to Homebase and got another 2 tins of paint, it looks quite forlorn now, with a lot of shelves empty. Ours is one which isn't being taken over by The Range unfortunately. I'll miss it especially in the summer, as I bought all my plants there.
I also had a lazy couple of hours over at my friends house - she can talk!
We're taking the nursery children over to school for lunch today as it's Christmas lunch day - little one will miss it as they're away to the RVI in Newcastle to see her respiratory consultant, but our school cook is going to make her one up and I'll take it round to their house for her to have at teatime.
I'm going to get on with wrapping some Christmas presents this morning, I've bought everything now I think, other than some Soap and Glory products for eldest DD - she told me yesterday she'd like some.
Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning all. Today has started with mist and it's forecast to be cloudy/murky all day with some drizzle mid-afternoon. And it's cold. Again.
On a happier note, I got done yesterday what I'd planned. Hairdresser first, good cut but she was a bit scissor happy; never mind, it grows quickly. Then next door to the PO, cards posted. While I was in the hairdresser's, DS dropped off the CS bag for me and collected my meds as the pharmacy had texted to say they were ready. That was quick, it's was only Monday when I asked for a new e-repeat script from the surgery - not complaining though as it's another pre-Xmas job done. I finished the cross stitch last night and will press/frame it today.
DS's visit was a surprise and so too was the unexpected gift he gave me. It's a silver hug ring (similar to a claddagh but with just two hands and no heart or crown) engraved inside with the words "Forever With You". There was a little card with a poem too that made me a bit tearful. I guess I'm still feeling more fragile than I thought I was. Another thing that sets me off is receiving Xmas cards addressed to just Mrs rather than Mr & Mrs. All part of the grieving process, as will be the "firsts" over the next year.
First job today is to drag out that dratted TD, then I'll tackle the other armchair. After that, who knows? I'm slowly accepting the fact that, although I can still do these things, they take much longer than they used to. That's probably why I don't do them as often!Tea tonight is scampi, oven chips and side salad. Not sure about afters - the rice pudding is finished - but I'll find something.
Oh no, @TA - another dental appointment in the New Year! Give in to the Sleep Fairy if you need to.
@Scarlet - The NHS does work well under these circumstances, I hope next week will bring better news for you and DH and that you enjoy your weekend away.
@Ruby - Have a good day with Rob, you really do go the extra mile for him.
@-taff - Thanks in advance for today's carol, they're a lovely start to the day.
Usual hugs where needed or wanted, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
