Any Epic Games experts?

Any help appreciated as I am clueless with gaming. Some background: I have a microsoft account with 2 Xbox devices (2 kids). Both kids play Fortnite on their xbox;s (different gamer tags).

I had trouble changing parental controls on Xbox 2 but my own Epic account only seemed to link to Xbox 1 so wasn't able to change the controls. Could not figure out where Xbox 2 Fortnite was linked to. Long story short, did an 'account recovery' for Xbox 2 Fortnite gamertag and changed the email address so we could access parental controls. Now I cannot link Xbox 2 to my epic games account but Xbox 1 is already linked. I'm going round in circles now. My son can no longer access all his stuff on Fortnite.

Looks like you can only link 1 Xbox with your Epic account which explains it, but no clue where Xbox 2 was originally linked to??

I am finding this very frustrating and the support take days to reply. I assume I would have to create a whole different Microsoft account to link it too but would that not affect other games on his Xbox.

So, I have 1 Microsoft account which Xbox 1 and Xbox 2 are logged into but how can I have 2 Epic accounts linked?

None of this probably even makes sense and it doesn't to me either!

I haven't used my Xbox profile for a very long time, but my understanding is as follows:

I'm not 100% sure you can link multiple EG profiles to the same MS account - I'd suggest going through the motions and see what happens when you try to link the 2nd EG profile to the 1st MS account. You might find it lets you or it will error out and in that case I suspect you'll need a second MS account.

Likewise, I was under the impression that you can only have one Xbox gamer tag per MS account? So you might find when you take a closer look at things that you already have a 2nd MS account, and you can simply link the 2nd EG profile to the 2nd MS account.

As for games, my understanding is that any digital games purchased by a particular MS account can be played on any Xbox console as long as that MS account is signed into the particular console. So if you sign in with the 1st profile (or whichever account has the digital purchases associated with it) on both consoles then should be able to play the games on both consoles. Physical games aren't really an issue, but you'll obviously need two discs if both Xbox consoles want to play the same game at the same time.
