Hi, and a Happy New Year to one 'n all. Is anyone successfully running Linux on 3's mobile broadband? If so, how's it going? If not any ideas where can I can source a decent 56k serial port modem for a good price?

try https://www.quidco.com where https://www.plus.net broadband is £10/month with a £28 quidco refund. I was told the modem they give you works with the ethernet port so works in Linux.0

Don't use it myself but this page has a link to linux resources - http://the.taoofmac.com/space/Huawei/E220 , looks like the same modem 3 uses. I have read stuff in an Aussie forum from linux users having success with that dongle and 3.
Ebay probably best bet for a serial 56k modem, new ones around £20 on Amazon, ebuyer.com even dearer.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -

Thanks for the replies. Think I'm going to try to source 56k modem through Freecycle/ebay and then see what happens. :beer:0
