"No entry" fine - from 2022 - in Lake Como, Italy - driving hire car - arrived today

Quite unexpectedly a fine has been received for entering a pedestrian zone in a vehicle while staying by Lake Como. Driving a hire car at the time.
In short, is this a fightable fine, a fine that can be ignored, or best to just pay it and be done with it?
There is no obvious means to dispute it - there is no memory of the infringement at all. NB this fine is from a weekend break over 2 years ago! I assume the delay is related to having been driving a hire car.
This was received today (11 December 2024) despite the date of issue being 22 November 2024.

Thank you in advance for all advice.
