Good morning, another dull day but fairly mild.
I woke up this morning convinced it was Saturday. Now I know the weeks go by fast, but don't want them going that fast. An unexpected pressie arrived yesterday from my DD, she didn't realise it would be delivered so quickly. I'm being good and not peeking.
Taff, a belated birthday to you and your OH.
Coxy, so sorry to hear about your SiL.
Scarlet, sending hugs to you and your DH, hoping the scans give better news.
Ruby, that sounds a lovely afternoon, I would have loved to see Robs face.
No idea what's happening today, although theres plenty I should be doing. Have a good day all.11 -
Morning everyone
I didn't manage to come on yesterday. Little ones' endoscopy showed she doesn't need her stomach operation re-done so that's good news, but still a mystery how she was able to be sick in the summer.
She's back on her feeding tube so she decided she was just going to watch the Nativity play yesterday, then I went round to their house to play with her and then have tea. The Nativity went well, in a slightly chaotic way, which always adds to the fun.
I'm not at work today - I should get on with present wrapping and have a universal credit phone appointment this morning. I'll have to go to Homebase to buy some more paint too and am hoping to have time to pop over to my friends' house for a cuppa.
Scarlet - so sorry to hear your news x
I'd better get on. Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning all. It's getting lighter now and I can see it will be another dull/grey day, dry and not windy but cold.
Glad you've got your network back @Gers - as you say, rubbish service.
I'm so sorry to hear your news @Scarlet, I know only too well how devastating those results are and I'm not surprised you're feeling under the weather. I hope you can both enjoy your weekend away.
Enjoy afternoon tea/lunch @Chrisca and @AA.
Yet more bad news for your SiL @Coxy, fingers crossed things improve soon. Enjoy your day at Scotney Castle.
Commiserations on the dreaded dental appointment @TA, hope all goes well. Look after that cough.
The canal trip sounds lovely @RR, I'm glad you and your people enjoyed the outing. I don't like cloves either.
I stuck to my shopping list yesterday at the Co-op but did succumb to YS sausages and naans (now in the freezer) and treated myself to a bunch of yellow carnations too (also YS) that are brightening up the kitchen. I've cleaned one armchair and what a difference! One chair and sofa to go.The Xmas lights are up and making it feel a bit more Xmas-y as well as cosy. I did more of the cross stitch last night and should have it finished by the weekend.
Today I'm at the hairdressers and will pop next door to the PO with the cards that need sending. There's a bag for the CS too. Tea tonight is curry and jacket potato.
Hugs for those who need or want them, stay safe and warm. X
ETA: Good news about Little One @dp1.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all, I'm not having a good day with my leg pain today so I'll be brief. I am expecting 2 parcels today then I have no idea what the rest of today will bring. The dw needs emptying and then who knows, there's plenty to do if I can.
Scarlet I'm so sorry about DH and I hope it's not what they think. I too know how devastating the news can be with both Mr Fix It and myself. 🧡
TA hope today goes well and everything is done swiftly. Hugs
Take care all, stay warm and safe.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.† + ☆ * ☆ ☆ * ☆ + †
Afternoon all. Up late today and didn't get on until now. Lazy morning so far, bacon and egg sarnie for breakfast, next door is doing a Christmas dinner for her ladies on the street so I contributed a Christmas cake. Going in the back garden in a bit to clear stuff up and away for winter, it's so blummin cold though! I'm going to need all of my accompaniements of gloves, scarf, neck warmer and hat. OH has gone to work again for his Christmas dinner. I have some brisket in the oven that needs slicing up, then I'll do the gravy from the liquid and veg and we'll have that tonight with some mash and sprouts, or at least, I will, he might still be full
Scarlet, what rubbish news. It'll still be on your mind but a weekend away might distract you a bit. Gers, just stay in and keep warm
and yes, a bit of warning might have been nice, I'm sure they could have sent a text...dp1, good news about the little one though. Ruby, crocodiles did make me laugh! Coxy, let's hope she can catch a break from now on... Allie, have a lovely lunch out. TA, hope the dentists goes well and the cough subsudes a bit...it sounds like the one OHs workmate keeps telling him a hundred day cough... Take care all, hugs n stuff...

Just catching up, I'm so sorry I put the wrong names on my post. I have edited it and apologise. Don't know what I was thinking, my fingers clearly weren't connected to my brain.9
