I will have to move shortly. My cleaner is coming this morning so my coffee table needs to be sorted and I want to change the bedding.Yesterday was a weird day all round. At about 9.30 the EE network dropped entirely, at first I thought it was my router so I did the reset routine before noticing that there was no mobile service either. Cue me getting into the car and driving into town where there's a 5g signal to phone EE. The advisor told me thst there was a planned eight hour outage to swap a microwave on the mast. 😱 No advance warning text or letter, just rubbish service. I was given a £10 credit on my bill but that's really not the point. My tiny Christmas tree arrived so I set it up, even I have to admit it looks lovely when the tiny lights are on. 😀 Right, now is the time start my day. I hope that everyone is doing well despite coughs, colds, sneezes and assorted other ills.14

Morning allThanks for the start Gers. It's gone 7am and it's still pitch black out there.I agree that's very poor service Gers. Customers seem to be treated as an afterthought.A bit of housework to do this morning and then this afternoon I'm really looking forward to going to a local hotel for a Christmas afternoon tea with my friend/work colleague. Yummy!Have a good day all and {{hugs}} to the poorlies x14

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
I haven't posted for a few days, haven't felt very well - tired, aching more than usual, just generally under the weather.
However it seems to have passed, thank heavens.
I think the last time I posted we were going to the hospital to see a specialist about Dh's blood test results. It wasn't good news, the Dr said that he was 99% certain that the symptoms indicated cancer but wanted more tests.
The good old NHS rolled into action straightaway and he has 2 scans next week, and another one after that. He's going for another blood test today and has an appointment to see the specialist again just after Christmas.
A couple of months ago we booked a weekend away with my nephew, and it's this coming weekend. We can still go, it's Friday - Monday, it'll be a nice change.
Hope everyone is ok - The weather has been terrible for everyone, but seems to have calmed down a bit.
Dp1, I was sorry to read that your granddaughter has been poorly, hope she is feeling better. I'm a bit behind with the news.
Hope everyone else is all right, keep safe and warm, take care folks.

What rotten news for your OH @Scarlet - it's good that the NHS wheels are moving. Sending hugs and hope that you can enjoy your weekend away.Afternoon Christmas tea sounds perfect @Chrisca, I suppose it'll have slabs of Christmas cake. Have a good time.I've made it up and dressed, tidied the table and now enjoying a coffee.11

Morning everyone
Thanks for the start Gers
After the previous night’s good slope, last night was back to waking multiple times.Scarlet - sorry to hear DH’s news, but glad the NHS have been prompt.
I’m off to mid Wales to meet friends for lunch - we always have a meal at this time of year and in fact always go to the same place and even sit at the same table. Very boring maybe but we know the food is good and have a great view of the river/rapids in Llangollen which given the recent rain should be quite spectacular.
take care all

Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Annoying about the tech issues yesterday grrrr.
We are off to Scotney Castle today as bagged an MSE free entry voucher. I have pre-booked the parking and we will have lunch/coffee there. Looking forward to it has haven’t visited before.
SIL has post-sedation delirium. She’s been diagnosed with COPD along with all her other issues. DH saw BIL yesterday evening whilst I was out with my WI ladies for a Christmas meal, so got the latest update. All very worrying for one so young (46).
Hope you enjoyed the canal trip and mulled wine @RedRuby1231, sounds fab x
Get well soon @TravellingAbuela x
Great news about your landline being restored so quickly @silver-oldie 😊
Belated HB to @-taff’s OH – hope the meeting went off okay 😊
Enjoy the afternoon tea @Chrisca50 😊
Sending my very best wishes to your DH @ScarletRibbons – not an easy time for you but I’m glad the NHS are on it. Glad you have the weekend away to look forward to.
Have a great day everyone,
Coxy

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Oh no SCARLET that's not the update we were hoping for from you. Fingers crossed it is something that can be treated successfully. I know well how devastating such news can be.
Another rubbish coughing night for me. I feel drained with it all. Last evening I felt dreadful, shaky, shivery but that has passed this morning and the cough is loose again. I've had some nasty coughs in my time but nothing like this has been (my mum always blamed the whooping cough I had as a child but she may have made that up!)
Anyway to add to my misery I have my third and last long dental procedure today. As of last night I was expecting to have to cancel it this morning but I just want it out of the way now and I do feel marginally brighter this morning. Hope the mood lasts after the procedure! I am a poor patient, I have no patience with myself or anybody else when I feel below par!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or worried. Take care all and stay safe xx
Cross posting COXY. I'm sorry the news of your SI is so worrying. 46 is no age to be going through something like that x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all
It looks very dark and dreary out there this morning and we might get rain later, I am off to collect Rob and take him to work, I think it’s the Christmas lunch today or tomorrow so he will love that.
The canal trip was lovely all of my people enjoyed it but Rob in particular his face was joyful he was looking out for birds and fish and I signed for him to look for crocodiles 🐊 his face was a picture, I did not partake of the mulled wine as I was working and tbh I really dont like it I can’t eat anything with cinnamon or cloves 🤢one of my people had two glasses and was slightly wobbly on the way back 😂
I need to go shopping later as the cupboards are empty so will do that on my way home.
Scarlett I am sending my very best wishes to you all that must have been such a shock xxx
Coxy your poor SIL I hope she continues to improve xxx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all, thanks Gers. It was so dark this morning. I had to delay taking pooch out as she gets a bit spooked in the trees if it's dark.I keep thinking it's weekend
, probably because that's when we tend to see the friends who came to see DH yesterday.
RR- crocodiles, glad you all enjoyed it.
Hope the dental treatment goes ok TA.I think I'll be cooking a chicken for tea later. I may have to pick DGS up, not sure yet, depends whether DS2 is still working in the area but he may have finished by schools out time. If so, DS1 will run me over there- he hasn't been feeling too well, aching and coughing, but feels a lot better today.Hugs to all in need:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. I am off to a Christmas meal today, so no cooking for me.
Hope everyone has a good day and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or worried.8
