RAC Cancellation, Have to phone?

Went on to the RAC website to cancel my policy as it's due to auto renew later this month.
when i click the option to opt out of this, I get a pop-up that says I have to phone them to do it.
Is this legal?, as it is restricting the cancellation options to just a phone.
when you register it clearly says you can update yoour details online.

    Yes.

  • Why would it not be legal?  It's a pain, of course, but nothing illegal about it.

    First world problems?

Although they do actually have an enquiry form as well.
"If you’re unable to contact us by phone (for example, you’re hard of hearing) you can contact us here. Please note, it may take longer to issue any refunds."
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

When I log in there's still the option to opt in/out of auto renewal. However, my renewal is not due until next March.
Because your's is ticked for "opt in", that's possibly why they ask you to call them to check whether you still want to auto renew?
Hence the "Your membership is due to renew soon".
