Nearly Well Done Royal Mail

Not such a good result with the Christmas parcels this year. Posted 4 parcels Thursday lunchtime at my local PO here in N Scotland. 2 x 2SP & 1 x 2MP to SE England and 1x T48 to SW England.
First the well done bit, 2 of the SE arrived Saturday lunchtime.
Now the not so good. The T48 was at the outgoing MC by 6pm and arrived at the receiving MC by 6pm Friday with delivery scheduled for Saturday. Well, that didn't happen likely due to the storm and it arrived at the DO 3am Monday scheduled for delivery that day, again didn't happen and eventually was delivered today. The final SE parcel was also delivered today, according to the recipient that particular DO seems to be on a deliver mail if we can be bothered schedule.

I don't think that is so bad. They were all second class and travelling the length of the country - north of Scotland to south of England. Taking into account the storm and RM quite rightly prioritising first class that seems pretty good to me. Saturday delivery was really fast for second class over this distance.

I send a mix of 24s and 48s. The 24s are mostly great, with a little higher percentage than I'd like not arriving next day. 48s are taking 2-10 days at the moment. They're mostly fine but quite a few outliers.

Royal Mail has been fined £10.5m by the regulator Ofcom for failing to meet delivery targets for first and second class mail.again.

Much cheaper to pay the fine rather than have the right amount of workers to meet the USO .0

The 2025 saga begins.Posted a T48 item Thursday afternoon. N Scotland to SE England. Item out for delivery at 8 am Saturday. All well and good so far. Looks like it spent a nice day out in the van seeing the local housing estates and then back to the DO at 8.22 pm to be delivered next working day. RM seem to now have an Amazon style delivery map, that went from 10 more deliveries then up to 20 then 50. Recipient was at home.0

Recently, I was waiting for a parcel to be delivered over a week by Royal Mail. According to the tracking delivery was attempted 3 times and no-one was home, no card was ever left and on each occasion 2 of us were home. On one of the days they say they attempted delivery, I was in the garden all day and they would have had to walk past me to get to the door! They are a joke, they give a 6 hour delivery slot meaning you waste all day waiting on, at least the other couriers give a 1 to 2 hour slot.0
