Want Barclaycard balance transfer card but already got a Barclaycard

The one with 0% fee!  I already have a Barclaycard and clicking on BTs on my account has the option of the standard offer with the 3% fee.  Would they allow me to apply for a second card with the current 0% fee option?  Credit rating is good.  That's to transfer bigger balance from a Natwest card.

Or more logically, since I already have a £12k credit limit (£1k balance), would they offer me 0% fee just on to the card I already have, if I call them and ask them nicely?  Or would that be a waste of time.

Anyone got any experience with this sort of thing.  Thanks

Barclaycard website says you can only have one Barclaycard at a time (must be a recent thing as I had 3 in the past). Woukd say your chances of getting 0% fee on current card slim to none.

In this situation I tried calling them and asking nicely, but no joy.

you have to cancel your existing Barclaycard, wait 6 months then apply for the new card.

May I ask where you got the 6 months figure from please?

I also currently have a Barclaycard, which I no longer use, and I am hoping to get a Barclaycard with 0% interest and fees on balance transfers by 1st April 2025.

Does the 6 months rule apply to all banks? I would also consider Santander, with whom I am in the same position.

It's not a "fixed rule" by any means - all banks will have their own criteria, and different marketing strategies at different times.  It's just that 6 months, anecdotally, is generally reckoned to be a decent-enough rule of thumb for most lenders.  But it's absolutely not a guarantee, and won't apply to all lenders.

on barclaycard card chat. I asked exactly the same question i.e. I want a balance transfer card. What do I do? And they said Cancel your existing card. Wait six months and re-apply.

However, what I should have said is that my existing barclaycard is the Amazon Barclaycard, which is a slightly different animal

For a normal Barclaycard ccording to the website you can change your card on the app. But no idea if it works it doesn't apply to my barclaycard
