Guided by your article, my wife just tried to use the price adjustment process on an article she purchased last week that was reduced in today's offers. Be prepared to fight for your cause. The staff on the customer services desk at our local warehouse had no idea about this. She was shunted between customer services and refunds (having to join the end of a long queue), asked if she had the article ( no, it was in the wash).

Eventually sense prevailed and a refund was offered. However, it took a long while. Could be a training opportunity for Costco here?

I’ve never found meat as you describe in most supermarkets. We tend to buy meat in Waitrose as we only have 2 supermarkets anywhere near us. The other is a small Sainsbury’s. Their meat is very high quality. We found a half leg of lamb on their knock down shelf. It was way less than half price so we bought it for the freezer and it reappeared in the barbecue season 😺
