  • It is also worth noting that you can use your card worldwide. I have successfully used my UK Costco card in Canada.

Worth knowing that the Bristol branch is very convenient for both M4 and M5. If you want to / need to top up fuel mid-journey from London to Pembrokeshire (eg) it's an excellent cheap bet.
I reckon they are closer to the motorway than some of the obscure Welsh service areas like Sarn Park

I’m surprised by the comment about birthday cakes. They are foul! They’re massively sweet and the sponge is like something concocted in a lab to use minimum real ingredients. Very American. TBF it’s been years as a couple of tastes was enough but it left a - negative - impression which has lasted!
Absolutely agree - their cakes are revolting, very synthetic. My work gets big cakes from Costco when they want to treat us and I just groan when I see them - I'd rather go without 😐

Costco do a lossleader usually at Christmas every year unlike other markeplaces which may do every week or few weeks, months hoewver Coscot is bad otherwise unless you have a niche item list
  • Lower fuel prices are great if you travel distances. I llive in Hertfordshire when I drive to Scotland (about 3 times a year) always stop for petrol at Costco St Helens. Only a couple of miles off the M6. Similarly, when I drive to Exeter (about twice a year) stop at Costco Bristol only a couple of miles off the M5. Far cheaper petrol than Motorway Service Stations.
  • Maybe it is just us (Three & Vodafone) but we never had a mobile signal inside any Costco warehouses which meant on-the-spot price comparison wasn't possible. No wifi either.

Has anyone had the same experience?

When I was with Three I didn't get a signal inside my nearest store but no problems with Lebara (Vodafone)
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

I’m with Three and have been to multiple Costco’s and have never had this issue.

I always fill up the car when I go to Costco.
Food-wise there are really good buys and not so good buys, so it's good to have an idea of items before you go.
Some of their bakery items are very good but others not so much so.
I'm wary of buying salads there, as they don't seem to last even up to the use-by date.
Items in the supermarkets are just getting smaller and smaller, whereas Costco aren't mean with the portion sizes.
Meat tends to be better than the supermarkets measly and/or water-augmented offerings.
They often have items at less than other places sale prices, so it's a good idea to keep your eyes open.
Overall I don't tend to be disappointed with my shopping results from Costco.

I doubt that is really down to network but the simple fact that the Costco warehouses are basically big metal boxes.  Car radio signal also fades out when parking in the car park area beneath the store.

To be fair, we have much the same signal loss in most of the areas within our local Tesco, signal is only if at the end of an aisle near the edge of the big metal box.
