Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
Pullin' on the reins
Bells are ringin', children singin'
All is merry and bright
Hang your stockings and say your prayers
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!† + ☆ * ☆ ☆ * ☆ + †
Morning all! Thak you vey much for your birthday wishes, I had a lovely day of doing not a lot followed by a Chinese with friends in the night - ok, so I did hoover, wash the dishes and make it look tidy,,Today is OHs birthday so we're doing what he wants today but he is off to work for a meeting later on [ he wants to go because it's deciding how his workplace functions and he doesn't want to leave it to the people who are retiring and don't give a monkeys] I need to raid the cupboards, one of my friends was talking about Korean cooking and he's looking for gochujang and pepper flakes, so I gave him the flakes but now I need to find the gochugang. Which leads me to believe my cupboards might be over full
time to cut down...
dp1, fingers crossed for little one today, hope she makes it to the show. Coxy, also fingers crossed for your sil, it sounds very scary. TA, be nice to yourself, hot milk and honey and whisky might make you feel better? SO, that's rapid response from them, well done them! Ruby, your day sounds perfectly Christmassy, enjoy! Izzy, I'm beginning to think she does it on purpose in the night ...hope you get a nap in today! Gers that's a bit chilly...yes, in front of fire and lazy day! Morning all, my it's still cold and that north wind doth blow again, makes it feel 2 degrees colder. Hope our little robin is safely tucked up and warm, I'm certainly not venturing out today, not after freezing yesterday going from the car to the shop.
I too am going to have a quiet day and perhaps just hoover through downstairs. I shall write my food shopping list for some xmas stuff but I'm waiting for Dad to add to it before I shop. I now have some presents to wrap too with 2 more being delivered tomorrow.
Izzy hope you can get through the day.
RedRuby the canal trip sounds lovely, hope you all enjoy it.
dp1 hope everything falls in place today and little one shines like the star that she already is ⭐
Coxy hugs for Sil and I hope she makes a full recovery.
NRA hope your neighbour is doing ok and comes home soon.
TA wrap up warm and look after yourself.
SO good quick service 👍
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to the poorly / sad ones.

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
It's dull and grey (again) but at least it's dry. Yesterday the sun put in an unexpected appearance and it was bright blue skies all the way for a while and then it spoiled itself by raining at school pick up time. None too warm though.
Oh dear, we seem to have so many poorly people at the moment, either themselves, family members, friends or even pets, so it's great to hear some good news as well, especially @Coxy's SiL being awake and @Dp1's LO being able to attend the school concert. @TA - maybe you overdid it a bit yesterday? The festive canal trip sounds good @RedRuby, I'm sure you/your people will enjoy it. Glad to hear your wound is healing @topsyturphy.
Yesterday I ordered my new e-repeat prescription and then set to on some cleaning jobs including lampshades and clearing out the under-stairs cupboard. A few bits were consigned to the bin and a few more went in the CS bag. Then I had a rummage in the cleaning cupboard and found the leather cleaner so there's no excuse now for not doing the sofa and chairs! I was acting as parcel central again for my neighbour and had quite a collection for her when she came home from work.
Today's plan is to go for what I need from the Co-op, dig out the Xmas lights for over the mantelpiece (I'll do the tree at the weekend) and drag out the TD to clean behind/under it. Anything else will depend on how I feel! There's space in the freezer now so I can make a few mince pies using a YS jar of mincemeat bought at the beginning of the year - they'll definitely be cheaper (and nicer) than shop bought. Apparently there's been a poor harvest of sultanas, maybe that's why they seem to be more expensive this year.
Tea tonight will be a bacon chop, egg and oven chips with rice pudding for afters and I'll defrost a tub of curry for tomorrow.
Have a good day, hugs and healing wishes for those who need or want them. X
ETA: Thanks for the carol @-taff and Happy Birthday to Mr -taff.Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi everyone,
We've been to see Esben in his nativity this morning. Fair to say he didn't give it his full attention even though he had he title role. Unfortunately his glue ear meant he couldn't hear the teachers hissing Esben at him. Very enjoyable though, I hope little one is reconciled to not singing a solo.
I then came home and made banana bread with Esther. Yesterday I made a Christmas cake at last, I hope it's ok. Apart from that I didn't sit down yesterday apart from in the car on the way to the shops. I finally sat down to eat dinner at 7.45, having eaten lunch in the car.
I won't accomplish much today because we're looking after Esther but at least Steve isn't golfing so he'll help.
Have a good day.11 -
Dear me, is it that time already? My shopping came at 8, so unpacked and had my breakfast after (I'd finished all my Greek yogurt the day before) I had a quick tidy up as we were expecting visitors at 11.They arrived with a lovely bouquet for me as 'Nursie' and a couple of books for the invalid. They left about an hour ago & as they walked to the car she spotted a bank card on the floor- next doors daughters. Her Mum hadn't realised it had fallen out of her pocket so that was lucky it was us that found it,then we had a quick lunch and now DS1 has taken DH for his follow up appointment at hospital so I've got a minute to myself, phew.I shall have to review the fridge for tea as I just bundled it all in, but there are a couple of things we can have.@-taff, belated birthday wishes for you, glad you had a nice day.RR canal trip sounds lovely.I hope little one makes the Xmas play @dp1 . Snoozer, little ones making mistakes etc. at the nativities makes it all the more heartwarming
I do miss being involved with things like that, I worked mainly in Reception class and loved this time of year- even if it was hard work

One of my execs went to his sons Nativity last week, and has his daughters last nursery Nativity tomorrow. There's a surprising amount of "private appointment, out of office" in diaries in our office at the moment!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
