Is Barclaycard Worst For Fraud!

For the second time this year i found transactions i did not recognise on my barclaycard credit card account, Both were for food at mexican restaurants in Manchester totalling 300 pound no pin number used.

This card is my secondary card which i only use on rare occasions and it was in the house the whole time and nobody has got into the accounts or my phone app.

The fraud team acted fast and are sending a replacement card but they did not warn me about security and refused to tell me how this can happen, It is as if they know what is happening and can't defend against it.

Since the last time i never save my card details on any website and i can't find any evidence of a breach with the i've been poned website.

I have used many different card providers over the years and yet Barclaycard is the only one this happens with.
Enjoy everyday like it's your last!

  • I wonder if you've ever been stung on a dodgy website? Reminded me of a phone call I had today from them actually - they rang me to discuss potentially fraudulent activity on my account. That activity? The balance transfers I've requested. Balance transfers - one being one where i spoke to someone on the phone to initiate it... Go figure 🙃

My experience of Barclays is the opposite, for a couple years they'd keep blocking legitimate repeat payments to a high street brand despite for years having no issue with the circa monthly payments before. Was a real pain to have to keep unblocking the card, each time they promised their system would "learn" the pattern and not do it again but the next month it all happened again.

Physical access to your card is not necessarily needed to fraudulently use your account.

It has nothing to do with being able to defend themselves.  Even if they know what the circumstances why would they share this information with you?  They are not going to share details that would give others an insight into how to circumvent their systems.  Remember also that you have not been defrauded - Barclaycard has.
